Anasta signs with Wests Tigers for 2 years

Roosters skipper Braith Anasta will play for Wests Tigers next season after agreeing to a two-year deal with the NRL club.

Off contract at the end of the season, Anasta's future has been the subject of much speculation, with the Roosters seemingly not keen to hold onto the 30-year-old, who has been with the club since 2006.

Anasta's manager Greg Willett said he had been in talks with the Tigers for a couple of weeks, who view the former NSW Origin representative as an ideal replacement for departing back-rower Gareth Ellis.

Did I miss where it says Wests Tigers confirmed the signing. We did after all sign Willie Mason didn't we. Andrew Webster is a sloth journalist
 
Good signing will add a bit of impact to the tigers and glad they didn't sign that grub mason

finally someone with experience in the halves with benji.
someone who is an on field leader,can run and pass at the line,kick,defend and has a cool head.

wish he could come over now.

sometimes people are too eager to go straight to youth.
 
Anasta in the halves seems like a bandaid solution. I would of thought Miller was being looked at long term to play halfback. I just wonder where it leaves us in the halves when his time is done.
 
Braith has put the Tigers to the sword more times then i can remember in the last 10 years.

Good signing imo regardless of where he plays.
 
Hope he doesn't play in the halves, I actually really like miller as our future halfback

Says the Tigers view Anasta as an 'ideal replacement for departing back-rower Gareth Ellis'. So maybe they do see him as replacing Ellis in the back-row. I hope not, i think they need a better option in the back-row with 1 or 2 props. I'm liking the idea of him at 5/8\. Will provide us with a kicking game that we're realy struggling with

Give the tigers credit. We signed Blair everyone is bagging him, because he's on good money. We sign Anasta you bag the club, I say good on them. We would not have paid over the odds, and he brings experience, kicking and goal kicking along with plenty of positional options. Age may be his only flaw. Pull your socks up guys. If we signed another big name dud I sure you wouldn't like it.

Wish it was effective emmediately. This is what i see happening. Braith gets promised the 6 jersey, he has an off season concentrating on streamlining his physique just like Brad Fittler did at the end of his career. He will finish his career in as good as form as ever feeling fresher and lighter. Welcome aboard Braith
