And ppl want Moses to start 5/8

IMHO, players shall be chosen in their natural position, so if Moses is our best 5/8 he shall be there, regaredless of anything else. Otherwise we will continue to see Sironen, Lawrence or Halatau at 5/8 :frowning:
Also, if Rowe is our best FB (ATM) he shall play FB not at any other position.
The only exception to this is 2nd tier limit, and therefore, we play Lulia/Lawrence/Halatau this year, instead of Fine/Hytchcox/Akuaola :frowning:

Go Tigers :sign:

wow can't believe some 'supporters' being so critical of a 19 year old in his 5-6th first grade game.

Sorry guys but he isn't going to be a Brad Fittler in his 6th-7th-8th NRL game guys. Part of learning in life is making mistakes and that's just what he's doing. I think it was a great learning experience for him and will put him good stead for years to come.

I've seen him come through the lower grades playing great football and he is destined for big things. He is a very flashy player. He was man of the match 3 games ago and you make a thread dissing the kid?

Pretty disgraceful if you ask me.

You think that's disgraceful buckle up because the ride is going to get a lot worse if he keeps reading the newspapers.
His been treated no different to how any other young guy has been treated on here playing their 5th- 6th game when they have had a shocker.

Irvine, you're a goose. Give yourself an uppercut. Moses & Brooks are part of our future & are on a sharp learning experience. Will be great footballers & are winners & are only 19\. Will learn a lot from current experience so grow a brain & cut them some slack.

Blimey some of you lot are harsh. In the words of Whitney Houston ( bet this is the first she's been quoted on this forum - probably the last too)

"I believe the children are our are future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to"

I would have preferred he only had a run such as with Brooks last year, then bulking up over the off season, but injuries have put paid to that option anyway. He has already shown us the luster of his diamond day, with rocks to be expected, especially when playing in a new position and up against the best,

He made plenty of errors when chiming in the other night and is no defender, but boy he is a great first receiver, and that is where he belongs. If Luke is out again, then Mitchell should be taking his place IMO.

Push him to the edge in defense to protect him if necessary, as it could not be much worse than having a backrower there. It goes against my normal thinking of easing a youngster in, however this is our last throw of the dice, so why not.

Moses had a very poor game. It happens with young blokes.
We will be better off long term with him getting this experience.

I'm fine with Moses playing 5/8, what is there to lose at this point.

You can't really hide anyone in defense in modern footy, I understand people's fears about him defending in the front line but let's face it we just got pumped 64-6 so the others aren't doing any better of a job.

Fact remains the only way to improve any attribute is to get in and do it, giving him a month of tackling monsters up in the front line will only help to improve his tackling confidence for next season, at which point a lot of people have him pegged for our starting 5/8 anyway.

I thought Austin had a blinder filling in at fullback a couple of weeks back, so chuck him there against the Roosters and give Moses the #6, at this stage we can't do much worse.

Based on what we seen last week, the alternatives are no better.

Whether Moses is at 5/8 or fullback, he needs to be able to make a tackle.

LOL Before going up to 1st grade Moses fired 16 or so of these passes in NSW Cup earlier in the year, only difference was Marika caught and converted these 16 wild passes into tries before heading down the m5 to the Storm!! :sign:

That is true, but what happens when he pops his shoulder and is set back a good 6-8 months in his development ? That would be a massive problem going forward not only for him but the club..

Having a go at a kid that has played only a handful of games & only had 1 shocker.. He has shown plenty of promise in attack & played a hand in several tries this season.

How about criticizing players who have had years of experience yet have produced nothing in the past year or so..

Keith Galloway - 5 tries in his 150 games or so.. Useless in attack, runs the ball back at slow motion, can't break the line, no offload, no domination, no nothing. There wouldn't be any other NRL club that would be crazy enough to sign him. Murdoch Masila showed more domination in the handful of games he played. We were stupid in letting him go.

Keith Lulia? Who?… The ball boy sees more action in a match.

Anasta - All those years of experience & yet he played a couple of decent games the whole year.

Lawrence - Sliding down hill like an avalanche.

Keith should of hung up the boots 2 years ago! Watch and count how many time he gets flipped onto his back against the Roosters. Slow and ineffective!!

Unfortunately that says a lot about this forum when it can't cut a little slack to young kids starting out in the game.

I think many want to cut him some slack by sending him back to build up his body and work on his game. Most don't expect miracles from 19 year olds. Desperate times created his opportunity to get a taste of the top grade, but that doesn't mean he should be expected to perform like a first grader.
