If this isnt the biggest lie I have read in ages….

The man behind the leak on Twitter yesterday of an embarrassing photograph of NRL star Joel Monaghan says he was surprised at how quickly his tweet spread around the country but the act was necessary to highlight the issue of animal cruelty.

Puts a whole new meaning on Beau and his "doggies" call and associated hand gestures.

And, I don't buy the official line that he was 'simulating' a sex act. I've seen the pic, there ain't no simulating going on.

These things should never ever be done and I certainly don't condone binge drinking, In actual fact I don't understand the obsession with drinking in our culture.

I'd like to know who the MATE that took the photo and released it is. (Haven't seen it on purpose and Im assuming via a mobile phone)

This person is a Dog for doing it to his colleague.

Umm ..no way ….It's pretty simple dont give his mate an opportunity to take the photo no matter how p!ssed you are.....making it an excuss is pathetic..IMO..not sayin you are 117.....

but ive heard it suggested already...not surprisingly Raiders fans....

I feel sorry for the loyal canine.... 😢 ..

Yes having has the misfortune to see the photo, it looks as though Joel is, ahem, pointing north… Couldn't have been too drunk then.

I wonder if he will get the sack now?

Based on what Don "Mr. Nepotism" Furner said it seems he was trying to alleviate the blame on these players a little by saying that they shouldn't have done it because they risked this sort of stupidity going viral on social media.

Not cause it's just plain wrong or anything hey Don, you muppet… :S

The ACT government are now hurriededly trying to rush through legislation outlawing beastiality….....I love a good knee jerk!

I thought everyone was taking the mickey when they said it wasn't illegal in the ACT. Obviously not after just looking it up on Wikipedia… 😱pen_mouth:

well, at first I just thought this was some media beat up, papers saying it was a simulated sex act…....after just seeing the photo...how the heck can that be construed as simulated???.....reminds me of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinksy, dude, it's a sex act.

maybe they should ban peanut butter as well?

"oh it's not cheating...."

i agree with you count geo. maybe his mate decided he didnt want to be a mate anymore after seeing him do something like that. joel shouldnt get away with that.

Disgraced Canberra centre Joel Monaghan will be sacked by the club on Monday when the eight-member Raiders board convenes in the national capital.
>
It's been reported that at least four of the Raiders' major sponsors have written letters to the club threatening to withdraw $1 million worth of revenue over the lewd photograph of Monaghan.
>
The development comes as NRL chief executive David Gallop continues to monitor the situation, with the game's governing body extremely close to making the call to de-register Monaghan from playing rugby league in Australia.
>
Gallop is understood to have wanted to de-register Monaghan on Thursday after the photograph went viral on email and began flooding inboxes around the country.
>
But the NRL will wait for the outcome of the Raiders board meeting on Monday where Monaghan's contract will be torn up.

The Raiders board is an ultra-conservative collection of ex-government officials and diplomats who have previously made the hard-line call to sack Todd Carney after repeated alcohol-related indiscretions.
>
A number of other Raiders sponsors have also verbally threatened to resign from any association with the club as the fallout from rugby league's latest black-eye reverberates.

Never heard of it being called a pengiun before.

Like it was a hard decision anyway. His a good player but I don't think any player would have a career after an incident like that.

I agree, I don't think you can come back from this

there will be not one club world wide that would want to be associated with him.

he will loose his job, and loose what he loves doing and writefully so but the worst thing would be when he speaks to his mother and grandmother and try to explain to them why thats were i feel sorry for him

French rugby will take him.

I can feel the knives sharpening now but on many a bucks night, not that many years ago, it was almost mandatory to have the poor unconscious buck photographed with his todger in some sort of animal. And that always ensured a whole lot of one liners from the folks at the photo shop. Harden up.

Most bucks nights I've been to have strippers not blokes shoving their old fella in an animal but we obviously move in different circles. Seriously though if you can't see why this is a big deal we're wasting our time talking about it.
