Andrew Johns

I wonder if this bloke and his idiot brother will ever grow up. He is married with kids isn't he? He doesn't deserve either of them.

Disgraceful is probably an exaggeration. He was smashed, tried to chat up a woman, got turned down, made a weird off-colour remark and slept on the floor. It's hardly the Hoff territory…

He gets smashed and makes a fool of himself quite a bit. A few times I've noticed when he's been commentating, he tends to slur his words, like he's had a few too many :sunglasses:
Seriously needs to cut down on the drink, or better still, just quit.

How these guys are Employed as commentators is unbelievable, the only one with half a brain is Sterlo IMO and knows how to carry himself in a Professional manner.

The Johns brothers, Fatty, Lockyer, Fittler are laughable and are only Employed cause of there past Status.
All they do is read of a Monitor that is all scripted already and make there opinions on the matter.

They are all morons excluding Sterlo. I don't watch any of them though.

there's definitely a massive drug and alcohol issue in the nrl. the problem is the culture which starts off from the grassroots. more and more money need to be spent in educating kids starting from u16s onwards.

Yep, that's my point. We don't want a bloke who passed out pissed in an airport as a coach, but we'll have a bloke who took a slash on a war memorial. Some are calling for him to even come back.

Joey's incident isn't a one off. He does this crap regularly. The amount he talks about drinking I'd say it's quite possible he is a drunk….a severe binger at best. Most Sundays on the footy show he craps on about how hungover he is and when guests are on he always reminisces about sessions on the booze. The bloke is a fool.

Well said Stryker. As good a player as Johns was, when you're contracted to a television station and in the public eye, you better be prepared to accept that responsibility and behave accordingly. The bloke is an immortal and has influenced so many junior footballers, it's a shame to see him behave like this. Grown adults should know better.

NRL commentator Andrew Johns has been stood down from his job at Channel Nine after he was slammed over alleged drunken behaviour at a Queensland airport. Fairfax reports the former Newcastle, New South Wales and Australia superstar has been told he will not be a part of tonight’s grand final coverage. He was also notably absent from this morning’s Sunday Footy Show.
Johns’ axing comes after he was slammed on social media for drunken behaviour at a Toowoomba airport on Friday night. An image of Johns laying on the ground has been widely circulated, as have allegations he propositioned a married woman.
 
Chanel nine will roll him out next year and all will be forgotten. The guy was close to the best footballer ever, but was and is a moron.

Just curious.

You don't see, John Sattler, Bob McCarthy or Ron Coote , acting like this.
 
Good to see he is at the Roters now, in good company SKD, Ferguson, Friend, Pearce.
 
I saw this clown out on the drink couple years ago in some manly bar, outright goose. He was carrying on like an 18yo. He'll never change.
