Its nothing much , but the Tigers were very quick to release a statement on what we all agree was a nothing story, highliting what a nice guy Webby is and how he follows the rules…aahhh feelgood stuff

Hows about some news on the big monster young fella thats joined Manly?
Hmmm...nup, nothing..might be criticised for that one

Has Paseka been granted a release? surely no one would be released until a new coach is appointed

Saw a comment that he had a JT clause. Not sure if it was sarcasm or not. But Being released with no coach in place is interesting timing at the very least.

Yep….. and these are the guys that us fans are having stress attacks over every frigging word they write around contracts and player retention......they have shown many many times that the great majority of journalists the great majority of time HAVE NO IDEA what is happening behind the scenes in regard to players/agents/clubs....... in this day and age if it isn't click bait it is being "first" whether it is correct or not......if they throw enough conflicting stories out there, occasionally through law of averages they are "right".
As they say, even a busted watch is right twice a day

Agreed a little openness and honesty goes a long way in regards to reducing bad news

Players were reprimanded for having bikie links. Why does he get a pass?
NRL was all over Fafita for visiting a lifelong friend that murdered someone.

Nobody see the double standards?

nope

Inks glasses are fogged :stuck_out_tongue:
It isn't a good look. Even Webster must have thought that.
Otherwise why was it necessary to get permission?
At least he covered his butt.

nothing but tumbleweeds out of Concord for weeks and yet Pascoe thought it necessary to release a statement on this?

Webster is good value has a hard edge about him but seems to relate well with the players. You never abandon your friends especially in death good on him.

Agreed…Pity people demand a high profile coach, to me webster looks like the sort of guy I would want play football under. I hope he stays around the joint and is Cleary's or who ever right hand man

You have to cut off criminal type stuff. Internal wranglings something totally different.

The big difference was he followed all the protocols and got the OK from the games governing body

Fifita didn't

What the links to Organised Crime figures..he was a pallbearer at a childhood friends funeral ..quick call the AFP…

What about Corey Norman and co? They're just having a meal with friends that was caught on social media. Yet the NRL decided who they can and can't be friends with.
My argument isn't with what the players or Webster are doing but the NRL have set double standards.

Being a pallbearer at a funeral and having dinner in public are slightly different don't you think

I imagine if Norman or Fifita was at their funeral it would be a different story

Again just remember Webster got the OK from the NRL , massive difference

I'm sure if Fifita had approached the NRL asking if he could preach the innocence of Loveridge he may have been given the OK

Every job has protocols , you follow them correctly and usually you'll get a positive response

Every job in this day and age has social media restrictions as well …..

That's not what you wrote here…

Tigers are full of shonks from the inception.
Dave Trodden and Elias stripped the joint a long with Nick DG.
Drug takers and match fixers and **now Webster has rebel bikie links even being a pale bearer for a drug trafficking murderer.**
The joint employs the worst of the worst, no wonder our players don't put in and want to leave.

As others have mentioned, one big difference is that Webster proactively went to the NRL about this & followed all of their procedures with regard to integrity measures.

The other big difference is that both Norman & Fifita were police matters, having been warned by cops about consorting and other matters. This was never the case with Webster, hence why there is a difference.

I'd consider him a person with criminal links. By association.
Hell, you can be arrested for consorting just being in their company.
It's ok though. Knew him forever.

He went through the right channels and got the approval. He wasn't canning on with a bunch of bikies on Instagram. He was a pallbearer for a friend at a funeral.
