Anone get that Sinking feeling (our season)

I know Robbie and Woodsie will make a big difference, however can they keep lifting us.?! The past 3 months we have had 4 wins

* 3 point win over Parra which included 2 intercept tries
* 2 point win Over Cronulla after trailling 20-10
* 3 point win Newcastle after Gidley got sin binned
* 1 point over Canberra

These wins have allowed us to keep a pretty good spot on the ladder. However in between these 4 wins ( 3 against the bottom 3) we have been beaten by 13+ on four occasions and struggled to put points on the board.

Plus I think the week in week out grind of the NRL might take a toll on some of our young forwards, Brooks, Nofo etc. No disgrace in that. A lot of them have done very well this season. That power game we played at the start of the year seems like a distant memory.

Manly are a spiteful team and will be full of intent on getting revenge on Friday Night. Then we have a Dogs team twice that are starting to go through the gears.

I hope i'm wrong however we might be in for a losing streak. Im sure will be competitive and keep trying. However i think the big sides are starting to slowly go through the gears. On the other hand we are getting a few injuries, player are looking tired and Potters seems to be cluelss when coming up with game plans to worry sides. Its like he has Plan A and nothing else at the minute.

I might be wrong and we can stay in the Top 8 however i think we could be in for a grim couple of months.

Today's loss was season over for us IMO .
We might jag one or two more wins this year and that'll be it .

Not really. I'll always be confident with Woods and Farah in the side, providing there aren't too many injuries. This comp is so condensed with teams above us losing, people are forgetting that. We'll be in with a show to get into the 8 up till the last few weeks, then i think it will just come down to how healthy we are.

We've performed better than I thought we would, but with SOO and injuries, I think we'll be found out now leading into the final rounds. Manly at Brookvale next Friday night…no chance, the Bulldogs twice, again, based on current form, highly unlikely, plus the Cows up north, the chooks, Canberra in the arctic...Tough run.

I think we'll be better prepared for next year.

No not many expected to win. However the fact we were lifeless, rudderless and lacking any game plan was quite stark. Sometimes there are heaps of positives to take from losses. today i am struggling to find 1 going forward.

No there's not much in the way of positives after today, the experienced players let us down, besides Blair really, they all either weren't that good or had shockers.

We will be better for it next year and it would be great if we could have some semblance of an injury free period for a change, running over several weeks.

We need to find a better replacement for Robbie during Origin next year, Cherrington maybe?

We clearly need more depth in the centres.

Is it a positive that Anasta may not be playing Friday night and that we'll either see Moses or Austin in at 5/8?

not at all. even though they were well beaten today, the first half they really took it up to the panthers, but they basically killed their own game with errors that in all fairness were far more basic and numerous today than usual.

at the start of this season i said my hopes were more about the evolution of the young players and the team as a result. surprisingly, at this stage i am still happy with how they are travelling.

there are very exciting glimpses in tigers games and even if they dont make the finals this season i am very optimistic the future is being very well built.

i thought brooks was very good today and these games where there is no farah or anasta only give him valuable experience going forward.

the debutants today (moses and lodge) give me even more hope for the future tigers. what a great team they have shaping up!! would love to see another centre come through, but i think this area can be fixed the next season or so. and woods is still deceptively young. i hope his body holds up well!

i guess if you are thinking about this season only you would get that sinking feeling, but even still, a severely understrength tigers did pretty well considering against one of the top teams.

there could still be life in this season. dont give up just yet!

1.Moses
2.Lodge
3.Pat Richards cant be that bad again

Honestly if the team can jag a couple more games I will see this as a successful season , top 8 is gone IMO Potter had his chances.

Most honest and sensible post I've read this year.
I got the feeling after the Parra win.

The best we can hope for next weekend against Manly is that Cherry-Evans is injured in SOO (though not likely since his game time will be limited now Cronk is back) because Manly are not the same team without him.

As for the rest of the season…well I won't be holding my breath for a top 8 finish, but I guess anything is possible. Our young guys are only going to get better for the experience, so next season is looking good, at least, if only the injuries will leave us alone for a while!

this sinking feeling came to me after Gavat disappeared.

I hate to say it but ,I think I can hear the fat lady starting to sing, the parties over.
potter no game plans, just the same old crap. think we can jag maybe 4-6 more points that's it.

I have that sinking feeling every time Potter opens his mouth. The upside if we keep losing might be that Payten or Webster take over and Potter is gone.
