Antonio Kaufusi

Looking for a home according to the NZ SKY commentators.

27 yo….been around a while debuting in 03

????

Havent seen much of him, how's he been playing? Does he look fit?

Good player before he did his knee.

Been a few years now since he was injured, so it may be a good time to get him. He could be quite hungry looking for a last chance.

Once again, its all relative to the money he will cost. Bargain buy, then yeh, i wouldnt complain.

Could be a dud buy a la Jason Cayless, or could turn out to be a smokey like Payten turned out to be.

Like Sirro said, at the right price could be a good pick up, especially as he's only 27.

Not another Kaufusi!!

Interesting, I guess the question is do we feel another forward is needed?

Blair and Bell replace Gibbs and Fafita, Begovich pretty takes Paytens spot.

He's not related to either of the Kaufusi's that played for Wests Tigers in the early 00's, probably should never have left Melbourne to go to the Cowboys were he was subsequently released to end up at the Knights.
Considering that his agent can't find him a home he could be cheap and is a great deal younger than some of the players we have been linked to recently.

He's been absolute garbage for a few years. I have a few mates who go for the Knights and have dubbed him AK-47m (tribute to how far he carries the ball every week).

or he might not even be a buy at all

Was reading during the week,an article dedicated to Phil Rotfield's hate campaign against Gus,that at the CEO's conference last week Gus was doodling on a piece of paper, and on that piece of paper he had scribbled '150K a season for two yrs,off to Newcastle now,see you at Panthers tonight',and supposedly handed the note to Mick Leary.Obviously Gus was going to Newcastle to talk to a player, and Kaufusi was the first player who sprung to my mind considering he's unwanted.Plus the Panthers are losing Petro,Waterhouse and Bell,so they'll be down on a few forwards next yr.Don't be surprized to see him end up a Panther

Either of them? If you mean Jackson and Lipina, they're the same person. He was also Makasini Richter. Every time he changed names he got a little bit worse as a player…

As for Antonio, I don't see a place for him apart from some added depth. He'd need to be the bargain of the century.

I think its been revealed he was going to see Clint Newtons dad about a return to the NRL

Jackson, Lipina and Makisini had a brother called Mal who played lower grades with Wests and some NRL with Manly. Hit like a tank but was very unfit and could harldly speak english

he might be referring to Mal Kaufusi, who played in the lower grades
he then went and played a bit of FG with the Northern Eagles
they were brothers

I must admit Mal's career passed me by. The main team was lousy enough in those days without worrying about our reserve graders! The fact Mal didn't make 1st grade says a lot… Also the memories of guys like Action Jackson clogging up our teamsheet shows you how far we've come as a club since then.

He has been playing good footy this year, which is part of the reason the Knights are doing well. Everyone in that team is playing to their potential.

My only issue with Kaufusi is since his broken leg he really struggles moving laterally and gets found out by forwards with footwork or smaller players . The guy had huge wraps before the injury as an Qld state of origin prospect . Not convinced . If he was a racehorse he would be rated as prefer others
