Any chance there might be a new signing soon

Lol, surely Parra realise he's had that injury for years…!
No way it happened after he arrived at Parra!

They would have grounds to maintain that he suffered the injury at Parra though - he played a good part of last season with them.

The DNA Freak's DNA seemed to break down after he left Manly and parted ways with Dessie's calf's blood…hmmm interesting.......

Beau Scott, Ma'u, Edwards, French, Semi, Jennings.

Have a crack Tigers. Parra are desperate.

Where s the money come from - are the Eels giving them to us?

We couldn't afford to pay for their new jumpers.

Lol far out Russell, I'm not saying sign all of them. I'm saying that any one of them would be decent signing and would help our roster.

Edwards and French would be the 2 likely on smaller contracts out of that lot and both are in positions we lack decent depth in.

Chances are Parra will still have to pay portions of salaries to get under the cap, no team will take players at their full price, especially when they know Parra need to clear some players urgently. Parra are a bit of a bargain bin at the moment. If Edwards for example was on $250,000 a year we may only need to pay $100-150,000 of that and then Parra can pay the rest. That's my understanding anyway. The hardest part is convincing players to leave, but most will at least want to remain in Sydney I would imagine and most likely in/around the West.

It all just depends on our cap and where were at and I don't think you actually know those particulars nor do I. So we may very well have enough money to get a sneaky signing.

But having missed a large number of games over the years with the same injury it would most likley be argued it was merely the recurrence of the existing injury, which was help together last season with sticky tape and band-aids.

And to those overly optimistic amongst us - we won't be able to sign any more of their players in any case. We'd most likely need to pay their full salary apart from what has already been paid so far this year. I'm sure we don't have even a spare couple of hundred k left in the cap after Taylor, and factoring any bonuses/callups from 2nd tier etc

But the problem Parra has is this TigerTye

If they get rid of a player they then need to replace them with a 80k a season player They won't want club taking partial contracts , they want teams taking a players full contract

That is why I don't see Parra making the first or even the 2nd cut off o be playing for points , unless they have been planning for his , which I doubt

Clubs will need to create there own space in many situations to fit players in their own caps

The big "if" is Watmough , does he want to retire ??

If he wanted to retire the start of the season was the perfect opportunity to do so

Interesting times ahead that for sure

:deadhorse: I remember when we were looking for a
Merger partner. Parramatta wanted to to take us over
and we're only interested in our Tiger emblem. They didn't give a stuff about us as a club! They laughed when we joined with Wests and said it wouldn't work.
Well now they've got thier just deserts. Like Souffs
They are a dishonorable club/ cretins. I for one Hate
The bastards as much as my passion for Weststigers is boundless.

I thought that the $80k was for a full season, so parra had to only cough up $45 odd k pro rata as the season is almost half over.

I know that and you know that, but we all know the NRL has no idea, so it wouldn't surprise me if they rule in parra's favour, it will be just another of their incompetent decisions.
We got no joy from them with Tuiaki, Dwyer and Fulton so parra should get no joy either, they were crazy to sign him for 4 years to start with, and they surely knew they were on or over the cap when they signed Jennings late on as well.

i dont want anyone except 2nd rowers.

its just stupid to sign semi unless youre getting him for some absurdly low figure

our outside backs look perfectly fine with simona, naiqama, nofoaluma, tedesco and rankin/JAC.

what we need is 2nd rowers. lawrence, sue and lovett or halatau strikes fear in NO ONE. let alone when our bench comes on…

lets put in terepo or tepai moeroa. that'll get some momentum in our team!!

Games I have seen Moeroa looks like a log. No thanks

Tepai Moeora I rated but he's dropped form heaps but good news is it means his value will decrease and I do think if he moved he'll hit his form again and can be the "next Hindmarsh"

Kenny Edwards also a great player would look very good in a tigers Jersey

Manu Mau is the man we should go after, tbh not sure how much he's worth…. I reckon if we threw 300k eles will let me go they're desperate to get under the cap ASAP and money shouldn't be an issue for 300k get Harry to throw in maybe 150k we can go 50/50 lol

Any of them 3 I would be happy about prefer Ma'u tho out of all of them

We shouldn't go after any backs and for the guy who said sign Semi.... I really hope you were being sarcastic :roll

Well we could afford Semi, he's on less than Nofoaluma! I know who gives more value for money…

Many of the other parra back rowers really aren't any better than ours. They've had good games here and there and look world class, but many have also gone missing and yo-yo'd up and down the pecking order too.
