Tigers fan from the UK here just wandering is anyone else from the UK if so how did use come about supporting the tigers?

welcome smoochefc to the forum. there is always plenty to entertain you and keep you informed on this forum. the family ancestor came to oz 170 years ago from Birmingham and we have had successive generations of tigers supporters since league started in 1908\. fyi, both balmain and wests were foundation members of the rugby league and they both have a long history of English players representing them over many years including gareth ellis,ellery hanley,gary schofield,dave topliss,brian lockwood,dave bolton,andy currier etc

my norwegian grandmother married a yorkshireman (barnsley) sailor and my mum was raised in portsmouth. after divorce, my nan, mum and uncle moved out here to perth: the archetypal 10- pound poms!

i lived in london for 3.5 years (during the dark tigers days of 2001 - 04 - so missed most of that!) so although australian, have strong ties to old blighty.

:supporter: I came out in 82 from gloucester uk to sydney. Never heard of rugby league till I saw Balmain play Penrith. Well Balmain colours are the same as wolverhapton wanders football club uk. well it was love at first sight. Have been member of mighty Tigers since.

Mum's from England

Came as a 10 pound pom in the early 50's with my grandparents

Her family are from Bedfordshire and Taunton in Somerset

i understand completely. my grandmother was similar in her strong dislike of germans ever since they occupied norway in WWII and what that entailed. loved tennis: hated steffi graf and boris becker!

Am from Liverpool UK. Was over in oz for a couple of years 2010 till 2012 spent most my time in Sydney had a job in Balmain with mostly tigers fans. When I left they bought me a old Balmain tigers top and it's gone from. Shame were not in better shape at the moment. So do use think we have a shot at finals footy this year?

smoochefc, we have the cattle, we have the strikepower, better than we have had for a long time… but you know that without a decent spine, a director in midfield, beautiful distribution and measure we will capitulate as per recent form. I personally think we have this covered better than we have in a long time, honestly think we will be nudging at the top 8 on just better percentage football alone, just normal sane football. Fly by the seat of your pants time though, unproven combinations... but the potential is there, in spades.

Look we probably need everything to go right to make the finals in 2014

Give these young fellas another year in grade and some more experience and pick up some smart signings for 2015 and we will be a Top 6 side in 2015

Our problem this season we be in 6 jersey imo and you don't usually see sides challenge the top sides without a quality 6
