Anyone heard Moltzen moving on.

Manly won't lose Hopoate, He has been their special little project for years.

For us as a club it's obviously a balancing act of keeping what's neccessary, fighting for what we want and off loading the overflow.

For Moltzen it will be what's best for his career, if i was him, the writing looks on the wall.

As for Sheens, i'm sure he's trying to do what's best for the team (well i hope he is). The fact that we all have different views on what the team should be is a matter of perception.

anyway, it will all work out.

what i mean is that he's not going to get a gig in the halves. Benji Lui and even Miller look ahead of him.

So if he see's his future in the halves, another team should look more appealing.

x2 thats right Icon Moltzen will either have to accept being a super sub until he gets more confident or go his seperate way He is not going to be the the fullback that Sheens wants and yes Lui and even Miller are probably ahead of Moltzen

Miller ?

Based off what ??

No good saying there are people on front of
Him. Moltz is ahead of miller in every way.
Why? He has more games under his belt. Miller hasn't proven or done anything yet in 1st grade. Well not Over a period of time.

Sheens will convince him hes a fullback, just look at J-Mo

I was hoping that Moltz could nail the fullback spot, but i want a fullback that will go nuts and be pound for pound our toughest….....Moltz doesnt look like he has that. So IMO, that leaves him without a place in our top 17.

I'd hate for the Tigers to hold the kid back, and thats exactly what i think is happening. He needs to look after himself. I just hope if he does leave, he goes to a club that wants to play him 5/8.

Souths would look ok with
1.Roberts
6.Moltzen
7.Finch
13.Sutton

Yeah, that looks ok IF it happens.
Sandow to Eels isn't certain, may not happen.
It's a good deal but Rusty might make a move to keep him, he's not the best half back but they're a rare breed and they'll be trying to hold onto him also.

Let's hope not, i don't assume to have Sheens insight but Morris lost 3 of his best years pretending to be a half back. Lets hope Moltzen doesn't do the same at fullback or utility. Moltzen is a 5/8, that's what position he should be playing. With the best 5/8 in the world at the club (when he doesn't have a cold) he should move on.

I'm just seeing it from Moltzen's point of view. If he stay i'll be more than happy.

I would like to keep Moltzen but with Marshall and Lui ahead of him in the halves maybe best for him to move on. He is hopeless at full back.

We need a goal kicking fullback/winger.

You dont just hit the ground running after a knee job,it can take a year to get your confidence back. Give him a break for a while. From the teams point of view it would be brillant if he did turn into a top line no1.

Really supercoach? do you really think Moltzen could turn into a top No.1?

Well you said it so you must believe it's a possibility.

I don't, he will make a top 5/8 if given the chance.

I wonder if we let Moltzen go next year would we have enough money to poach Hopoate from Manly. If we could do this it is a no brainer to let Moltzen go.

Id take michael gordon ahead of him with his accurate goalkicking and high effective workrate.

Moltzen is not a fullback by current NRL standards. He is a 5/8\. His development as a 5/8 is inevitably frustrated at the Tigers. IMO his manager should be telling him to move on. Unfortunately he is a crap fullback.

5/8`s & Fullbacks play a very similar role these days, only difference being one is in the front line when defending & the other is at the back & responsible for taking the high ball and for kick returns.

Darren Lockyer - originally a 5/8, made his name as a fullback & returned to 5/8 later in his career.
Kurt Gidley - originally a 5/8, has played a few seasons as a fullback & has now returned to 5/8.
Todd Carney - originally a 5/8, Brian Smith played him at fullback & he played real well, but has since returned to 5/8.
Darius Boyd - originally a fullback, played plenty of wing & centre at the Broncos & has now established himself as a top class fullback at the Dragons. Has played a couple of games at 5/8 and Wayne Bennett has stated he will make a great 5/8 in the near future.
Willie Zillman - originally a 5/8, came into first grade as a fullback at Canberra, has played mostly fullback at the Gold Coast, but is now starting to live up to his potential since moving back to 5/8.
Ben Barba - originally a 5/8, the Bulldogs have moved him to fullback mainly to get him out of the front line in defence and to let him pop up wherever he likes. Currently in scintillating form with the Bulldogs & the sky is the limit for him.
Matt Bowen - originally a 5/8, moved to fullback early in his career at the Cowboys for similar reasons as to why the Bulldogs have moved Ben Barba to fullback.
Anthony Minichiello - originally a winger, moved to fullback after a couple of seasons on the wing, he has only played a couple of games at 5/8 but handled it quite well.
Billy Slater - always been a fullback, but plays the game very similar to how Darren Lockyer played when he was the worlds best fullback. Craig Bellamy has stated that the fullbacks & 5/8`s now play a very similar role, so will be no surprise if Billy Slater moved to 5/8 later in his career.
Presto Campbell - originally a halfback & moved in between 5/8 & fullback most of his career.
Lance Hohaia - originally a halfback, but switched between 5/8 & fullback for most of his career to date. Reported to be moving back to halfback for his new English club next season.
Jarryd Hayne - originally a fullback & has only played a few games at 5/8 which didn`t prove overly successful at the time, but it`s rumoured that coach Steve Kearney is planning on moving Hayne back to 5/8 fulltime from the start of next season.
Ben Hornby - originally a fullback, has played the latter half of his career as a halfback, but has also played his fair share of games at 5/8.
Gareth Widdop - originally a fullback - is making a great fist of playing 5/8 for the Storm despite fullback being his natural position.

awesome post vicious but disagree with carney he was woeful at fullback and had plenty of shockers in him in defense not unlike moltzen
