The NRL can't make decisions based on us. There's only been 5 gfs with both teams from Sydney in the NRL era.

You haven't noticed how Sydney centric V'landy's is? I highly doubt the Grand Final leaves Sydney.

Your probably right, but I bet he knows he had a great bargaining chip and the govt know he's bullish enough to move it at least once.

I actually think we will get a couple of redeveloped grounds out of it and the Grand Final will stay here.

The problem is, where do you do these redevelopments? just like the problems we have as a club with there not being one ideal location, each of the locations proposed for these redeveloped grounds have issues too.

Brookvale- one tenant

Campbelltown- would have multiple tenants but the Wests Tigers would need to commit the vast majority of their games there and I see that as unlikely

Penrith- one tenant

Kogarah- would need to convince Sharks or maybe Sydney FC to play games at the ground and St George need to play in Woolongong as well.

Wherever clubs and councils want modern stadiums. If they can't agree then they won't get anything. Penrith and Brooky look the most likely. Darcy Byrne has signaled his grand vision so that crosses them off. If Wests don't want a full-time move to Campbo and saints /Cronulla can't agree then they get nothing aswell.
Upgrades like Campbos last one shouldn't be entertained.

I'm more concerned by the thought that Manly would be one of the venues up for NSW govt funding to be re-furbished.

Well if the govt are offering us a 20k new stadium in Sydney we should take it.

My thoughts exactly. Can’t see it leaving Sydney. Even the economics don’t make sense.

83,500 (ANZ) vs 52,500 (Suncorp). Maybe the MCG @ 100,024 but who would go?

WA govt paid 10mill for origin and got a bigger crowd than what Suncorp gets. The economic are solid.

I’d like to see them try and move the GF to WA. I would hate to think of what the result would be.

Why would it be different to moving origin?

Because it was 1 game out of 3 for SOO, you can wear that. The GF is the pinnacle of our game, a once in a season opportunity to barrack live for your team to win the premiership. I think moving that game to WA would go down like a lead balloon to all the fans and especially the sponsors. While it might be a short term win the long term fallout may be far worse.

Campbelltown is a good option because it would have multiple tenants if the Wests Tigers can be convinced to play the majority of games there. The other idea is to joint with the bulldogs and push for the Liverpool proposal.

If we are smart and form an alliance with the dogs for a new stadium then there is one. A stadium for Cronulla and St george is two, I would consider Brookvale due to its unique geography. Campbelltown could be considered an option with multiple tenants as well with the a league.

I really think we would be stupid to not partner with the dogs for the Liverpool option. I think we were stupid not to really push for Bankwest to be at Liverpool.

Would people be happy with sharing a stadium in Liverpool with the Bulldogs?

Well if the govt are offering us a 20k new stadium in Sydney we should take it.

Serious question. Why? Leichhardt & Campbo can both accomodate 20K. As an unsuccessful club we attract more than 20K.

Why would committing to all games at a 20K ground work? Surely we are throwing away money?

Id hopefully like 25K, LO is outdated and unlikely to be modernised to the standard required and CSS may get updated but its unlikely we commit that far out from Ashfield for enough games to make it viable.

I actually think we will get a couple of redeveloped grounds out of it and the Grand Final will stay here.

Oh I agree. He'll get what he wants and hopefully that helps us.

I really think these new or refurb grounds should be multi tenant grounds, that rules out Penrith and Brooky. Campbelltown is a good option because it would have multiple tenants if the Wests Tigers can be convinced to play the majority of games there. The other idea is to joint with the bulldogs and push for the Liverpool proposal.

But how many multi tenant grounds are there that need developing? Liverpool would be a great option, maybe towards the new airport.

The other option would be to partner with Penrith for a stadium near the new airport but feel that is unlikely for the same reasons as CSS.
