OFFICIAL Apisai Koroisau #263

Api is no doubt a great player, but am I wrong for questioning his leadership ability?

He obviously was the best player for us throughout some hard years, but more recently I’m not sure if he’s the type of captain we need
Not to seem too harsh mate, but he has never been a captain here and his leadership qualities that people bang on about are greatly exaggerated.

I just don't see how Api gets abused here so much.

Shoulder charge was silly, but to be honest it looked like he went in to tackle but instead braced himself as he backed off (didn't catch a replay).

Wish he'd go back to Penrith for one more year and retire with another premiership. We don't deserve him, the club or the fans.

We do not deserve him

Shoulder charge was stupid, but like Jason Taylor called out years ago when he started here, we make an error then can’t defend it. Nothing has changed since then.

Great player but not a very good captain.

He's way too good for us regardless but I suspect the last couple of years of his deal are going to be bad, mainly due to his age and the fact we've broken him playing so many minutes at this point in his career.

Couldnt careless about the Fiji campaign. Not his first broken jaw unfortunately. Broken jaw is usually 4-8 weeks. Api getting on in years, worse case multiple fractures needing wiring etc it takes him 12-14 weeks to get back to contact, should still be good for RD 1 in 17/18 weeks time. Plenty of time to be fit and ready and on the field for RD 1.

Hope Api's Mrs doesn't put the foot down and tell him, that's it you've had enough head injuries it's time to give it away.

I’d imagine that she would be cautious about doing that unless he has a backup for a decent income. Knowing that his retirement is coming and having plans in place for a shock early finish is hard

Yeah, she needs to be conscious that Api playing in the NRL is their bread and butter.

She should encourage him to recover from his injuries as soon as possible and get out there and break a leg. . . . . . oh wait. 🤔

I was more concerned at the time whether a Kiwi player had touched the ball and who was going to get possession of the ball.

Was surprised when next minute Api is going off for a HIA.
