OFFICIAL Apisai Koroisau #263

Upset, hell no, I would be thrilled to be proven wrong. Hunt for example, is already looking like the latest in a long line of them over the last decade or so.

In fairness Hunt has never even been close to the quality that Api provides to a club, when we signed him i had massive doubts about what he would provide to the club (2 10 minute hitouts a game was never going to be enough for me and he does not even do that).
Api however is a quality player even in his later years.

I get the sentiment of not wanting to lose leaders, but he was under contract until the end of 26.

By that time, several players in our team would have the opportunity to step up and be leaders.

If we're still relying on Koroisau, both as a footy player and leader in 2028, something's gone wrong.

Clever players are as rare as hens teeth.
Cameron Smith was still the best 9 in the game by a country mile when he retired at 37.
Re-signing Api is a fantastic move by the club.
Problem is API hasn't played "clever" often enough for us... I give him and others a pass this year because of the rotation in our spine.... But hopefully we see some of it the next 6 games... Hoping our spine shows up the doggies next weekend .

I think Richo summed up the situation perfectly... Souths chose Ilias over Reynolds & we all saw how that turned out for them. Api is still offering a lot on the field plus is a great mentor to a lot of the younger guys in the squad who look up to him. No one knows the discussions around what the plan in 2028 is Haywood could be our starting 9 with Api moving to the bench or playing the small bulk of the minutes all I know is Api came to the club at a time when we were struggling & has worn his heart on his sleeve & given 100% every game while being a great ambassador for the club. I think it's important for the culture the club is trying to build that you reward that.

So do I. But it’s not something I care for or think about when watching a game of footy.
Thats also fair.

I see it bringing the right sort of culture to the club, something that has been lacking for a long time ..

When a player is offered more money to go elsewhere, or take a bit less and know the tigers will back you and prioritise your family first - it may sway a few to stick around...

If singing about family first keeps the Mays and Fainus, then I'm happy for Benji to start a choir.

Watching TDS at Parra he’s not doing that great at the moment. That’s not to say he won’t become a good player down the line, but he’s still not ready for NRL full time IMO. I highly doubt we’ll bring him back especially now its pretty much gonna be Haywood taking over from Api unless they buy another 9 in the future.
A lot of people will poo poo this but the player I would still like to have around is Jacob Liddle.

A lot of people on here couldn't wait to see the back of him.

Where the hell is Russell (I think it was Russell) when you you need some back up.
