Appointment of Scott Fulton to Wests Tigers

Real question is who he wants in the halves. Hopefully not Schuster.
Well it’s certainly looking more and more like LB will be around a bit longer, but is Schuster the right foil ?
Every time you look at this halves recruitment scenario, with who is actually available, it becomes more complex.
Maybe Fulton can unlock the door on a few players we are not even thinking of, and not necessarily from Manly.

Yeah that seems to be him now... Good to see not only us produce plodders... Only top tier clubs don't.
But do yiu recall. Him at his best he can be damaging... Maybe a change is what he needs?
I had a big rapp on him early on before he swallowed a few sheep and the way he was demanding that he be 5/8 like a little spoilt brat, now he is involved in punch ups with team mates.

Wouldn't be surprised if the next step is to put one on Daly Cherry-Evans after the serve he gave him.

You might be right in that maybe a change of scenery is what he needs, but I keep getting this vision of Moses Suli coming to training and sleeping in the car out in the car park.

Unless it is on an extremely heavily subsidised deal - PASS.

Think this appointment changes everything.

A good move I think. I worry when people are pulled out of non rugby league roles into rugby league roles like Macca was for us. You are behind the 8 ball for starters.

The way Lee and Justin went about this leads me to believe that they believe Sheens or someone close to him are leaking to the media. There was no leak for this hiring so perhaps they are correct.

It may also be the case that the club (CEO and Board) were concerned of Macca negotiating alone with Isaac Moses regarding Mitchell Moses. To me that screams of “illegal payments” with Isaac involved (past history and all) and Macca alone. It’s poor corporate control and if we got busted doing anything illegal around that, it’s very likely the CEO and some/all of the board would have to step down (perhaps not a bad thing…). So I understand their nervousness around it.

Possibly Ink but remember they punted Foran to give him the 5/8 role and he doesn’t seem to be delivering. I’d want to try and work out why that’s happened before I’d even consider him.
And now a dust up at training? Seems like there’s a bit going on around him at Manly.
I think half the problem at Manly is if you aren't in the DCE/Trob clique you are on the outer.

Schuster should be our ball playing 13

And if we had have missed getting S Fulton because we acted slowly the SMH would be running with “How dithering Tigers missed golden opportunity”

Smart NRL types are suggesting Scott Fulton is an elite level operator and if it helps our recruitment prospects, Batman and Robin will just have to get over it.

I think you are way over thinking things.

We didn’t get Moses and it was a recruiting failure we went all in even gave up Hastings for it. We also have zero players inbound so far for next season so far & a chunk of players off contract.

Macca has failed in his job as recruiter manager.

Fulton was talking to the Dragons, was leaving Manly anyway and has close ties to Mario (who sent 2 kids to the dragons mid season) and who looks after most of our best kids coming through.

My view is we jumped and acted quickly grabbed him as Macca failed. I think it was astute business from us.

You also need to create an environment where elite people want to be, especially when we are talking about elite professional sport and not some other industry. Therein lies the difference between you and Justin.

I’m still waiting for you to fill me in when the Wests Tigers was ever that environment? Wasn’t after winning the comp, wasn’t after finishing top 4 - 2 years running…
I could argue (not that you’d care to listen) the most elite signings we’ve made in more than a decade have been made under Pascoe 18 months ago…

At the end of the day. Macca failed to get Moses over the line after telling the bigwigs if they left him to it he'd get it done.

Macca is only there because it's a jobs for the boys situation and obviously the club don't think much of him as he'd been flicked prior.

I think it's a great addition and adds more checks and balances as he isn't Sheens boy

Not sure how you jumped to that conclusion
