Are we getting too enthusiastic?

We are building but at this stage we will still struggle to beat the better sides. All the usual things hold us back a tad, goal kicking, speed
And maybe a top notch no6 or 7. Although we are not that far behind. I think next year we might be the year might be the year we finish top 5

Yes we are getting ahead of ourselves the Broncos game every bit of bounce went our way but could not fault the attitude to turn chances into points.

Against a Top 4 team if will be different and would love to beat Parra and remain in 7th leading into 2 games we should win against the Warriors and Bulldogs.
In reality we might fall just short but with Twal back we will certainly match there forwards and aggression. We are due for a win against them at some stage!!!

We are a massive long shot to make the finals. TAB has us at $2.75:1 to make the 8.

If you play with the NRL Ladder Predictor - https://www.nrl.com/ladder/?competition=111
We have a very tough draw, we need to win every game against teams below us and 2 against teams above us. It is a very tough ask.

Someone called Tunza does a maths based Power Ranking Analysis on the Reddit NRL forum and only gives us a 3.7% chance of making the finals - https://www.reddit.com/r/nrl/comments/huc2yx/nrl_power_rankings_round_11_2020/

There is some hope but you are fooling yourself if you _expect_ Wests Tigers to make the 8 this year.

I expect us to win the grand final 🙂

Odds are we miss out. Eels twice, Panthers, Storm, Roosters, Souths, Knights, Manly.
Warriors and Dogs are the only games that should be a definite two points but we have ways of losing these games.

We are building something which is rare. Madge is holding players accountable and our best players are young. Growth of Aloai, Mikalele, Grant, Garner, Douihei, Walters, McIntyre, Eiso, Luciano, Talau are outstanding. Packer back and fit is a massive boost with big Twal back this week.

Our veteran players Marshall, Packer, Lawrence are going well it’s just the two most talented Brooks and Mbye that are struggling. Reynolds is a wild card. There is a drop off where we need to replace players. ET, MCK, McQueen, Clarke and am outside back to replace Corey.

It’s been a long time being excited about our team on a weekly basis ! Long gone are the days of competing in most games improving yes ..No I am not enthusiastic moving forward this season , just happy about the wins that do come .
No finals again this year .. No kicker will see to that .. will come close in many games but the kicking will he the difference .

I sometimes forget that optimists exist. You weird, happy, deluded bastards...

Can I reply on Friday.

Despite our good attacking stats, in our gritty losses against good defences we don't seem to have much inside the 20. Parras defence worries more than their attack.

I knew I should've joined the WTF tipping comp!

The manner in which we beat the broncos tells me this team is heading in the right direction. But we are not there yet. Our defence was great however, many of our try’s against the broncos were bad/soft defensive reads or freakish plays that won’t come off week in week out.

We are not a team full of stars like eels, panthers, roosters, knights and manly. We don’t have pace, other than Nofo there is no one that can go the length of the field.

We toil and we work off our defence, the reason why refs calls make a difference to our games. For us to beat the eels we will need everything to go our way and the boys may not have the space and go forward they enjoyed against the broncos. Will be a good gauge of where we are at.

I think our ladder position is a pretty good indication of where we are at. A couple of results go our way and we are 6 or 7th, they don’t and we are 9 or 10th.

Every Refs call and every bounce of the ball went our way against the Bronco’s and their defence was awful.

The bounce of the ball certainly favoured us, but not the officials.

We got one more penalty than the Broncos (4 to 3), while they got one more set restart than us (6 to 5). Pretty even in other words.

If you want an example of a real leg-up from the officials, check out our second half against the Panthers. They were awarded 9 penalties in the second half to our 2. I'm pretty confident if that penalty count were reversed that night we would have won comfortably.

What about the forward pass called just as the Cowboys were getting a roll on. Only forward pass of the game apparently. And the Penrith winger holding the ball in one hand drops it inches from the line and it's a Cowboys knock on. I give up.

Our defence is fantastic most weeks but it surprised me to see of all top 8 teams only Roosters have scored more points. I still think we're a chance

We've definitely improved as a side but my concern is the Top 5 to 6 sides have improved even more

Definitely a 2 tiered comp ...the boys need to find another gear to prove me wrong this week

If the Slimey one is back put him on his arse every single time..

One narrative I've noticed in the media which is pleasing in relation to Wests Tigers is that whilst they may not have won the opposition ..they were sore and sorry and knew they were in a game..

Hard to put the gutless wimp on his bum because he passes or kicks two metres from the line

I don't know if I've completely lost my marbles but I'm starting to think we can make the 8 and actually be a threat.

Look under the fridge!

Seriously, if we compete well this week it might be time to think we can get there.

How much you tipping Parra by this week Slimey Eel lover

These top eight teams have the ability to compete for the full 80, where, apart from last week against the Donkeys, we have drifted in and out. Personally, I think we will knock over a couple of top eight teams because we will compete for the entire game. We will lose a few because it’s not entirely in our DNA - yet. I reckon it will be a case of Our F/A to see if we make the 8.

I don't expect a river of points from the Eels ..probably by a Brook

A dozen years or more of losing games that we should have won suggests it was always gonna be a 50/50 chance. I tipped them too.
