Are we going from bad to worse so maybe need to think outside box

I made a thread about this...

Lol, it wasn't pretty man.

Enjoy the read 😅
Understand the complications were we on life support then ?

Not as bad as now but I think the central coast is such an underutilised area.

I think the NRL would compensate us for a move like this.

Huge amount of Tigers fans on the coast.
Local club Entrance Tigers shares the logo.

Close enough to Sydney.

Yes, we are getting worse.

It was a throwaway line in the documentary, but i still reflect on it. Can't quote it verbatim but it was along the lines of people whinging about the flags not being straight. In the scheme of things not such a big deal, only it is. As an organisation our front office should be striving for perfection. Near enough is not good enough. Attention to detail sets professionals apart from amateurs. Only Wests Tigers could open a COE and have the playing career of a life member wrong. FMD!!

In the last 10 years everything in this organisation has changed. We have had 3 current (or post us) premiership winning coaches, countless player overhauls, training staff etc.Yet the results have been abysmal.

There has been minor changes at the top. Where does the problem really lie?
He was whingeing about how he gets a lot of complaint emails. Wonder why? Probably avoid Outlook this week.

Hard to think outside the box when the club are in the box, on the shoulders of a couple of pall bearers who have dodgy shoulders. Namely the board, CEO, and I fear the future coach and future, future coach too.

This is not a solely a WT issue. They have friends with Knights, Titans, Dragons, Bulldogs, Warriors.

The disparity between the top 8 and bottom 8 teams over the last couple of years needs to be addressed by the NRL Head Office as it is not a good look for the game going forward.

The weaker 8 teams need some serious intervention to improve their position in the forthcoming seasons or fans will walk away.

I was totally against a 17th team coming in which will only compound the issue.
Seriously not enough NRL talent to fill 16 teams and now a 17th team. FFS.

I think NRL needs a draft system that the AFL has as current process is broken. Need to spread the talent around.

This rounds of thrashings has done nothing to promote the game in fact turned many supporters off of the games. The top 8 seems to be decided earlier each season which should not be the case. Teams should be battling for spots up until the last round.

None of the WT team that lined up last night would make it into another of the top 8 teams which shows how weak the roster really is.

WT needs one home ground as well. Chopping and changing has done nothing to establish an identity.

WT also need to stop sacking coaches as well. Really bad look over the years.

If I was a professional player WT would be the less attractive team to join.

I know through a friend who is relate to a current Cowboys player who WT once looked at years ago. WT presentation was so unprofessional compared to the other 3 teams vying for his services even though WT offered the most money. The lack of vision, systems in place and off field set up was really poor. This is before the Centre of Excellent.

It’s pretty much a two tier league now, it would suck for us but a comp with two divisions of 8 teams with would make a lot of sense.

Bottom 2 teams in firsts get relegated,

Top two teams in 2nd division get promoted (you could even make it a playoffs / finals series between the top 4 of div 2)

I would bin the salary cap too. Or at least overhaul it so it actually works. In its current state there is obviously / perceived rorting which kills the integrity of the game.

100% agree with all your well articulated suggestions.

WT might spend a lot of time in the second division.

Salary Cap has been a joke for a long time.

Roosters have been using paper bags since the late 70's.

If only WT had our own Uncle Nick over the years things would be different.

Out of the 17 players last night ( and this before a ball was kicked ), only 2 , Maumolo and Ofahengaue were on a par with their counterparts, how does such disparity become so entrenched, we are outugunned every game ( even Newcastle were better man on man ), yet we spend the same amount of money , in the same talent pool.
The NRL sticking their head in the sand with regards to rorts is one thing and the club has no control over.
Poor roster choices and lack of performance criteria in players' contracts by management is something we can control

It's just a shame the Tiger's uncle Nick wants to go to the grave with the first dollar he ever earnt.

Worth a billion and gives us a chef......

Central Coast Tigers will keep most of their fans but the Perth Tigers won't!
CCT not a bade idea but just don’t think that will happen, especially after spending $78m on the COE. NRL will persevere with us in our existing form.
But for how long, who knows.

I spoke with one of the trainers at the Tigers a while back and he told me he had never seen such a disparity between the top teams and the bottom teams.

That's why I called the COE a millstone so the 78 mill will dictate everything and what changes very little we can't attract talent and this club representing Balmain Leichardt Ryde Ashfield Licombe Campbelltown and Concord in other words various areas ranging from a stones throw to the city to 65km away . What do we represent? The Central Coast has massive junior pool and already large % of tigers fans .Also a great stadium with CC leagues next door .However I agree it won't happen as long as dinosaurs keep clinging to the past. Talk about spending roosters new ground 800 mill Penrith 600 mill upgrade

Mate i am 69 and the gulf betweem top and bottom clubs has never been wider and i am sure that most people older than me would agree with that.Unfortunately we are becoming as lopsided and as unfair a competition as the pommie soccer is.To be honest not many people want a competition to be between the same 3-4 clubs every year

And let’s face it, most people are from west Sydney that live up there as well.

Saw Michael Buettner up there back in April - looks good. Actually, let’s sign him’

The NRL are such a brain dead organisation , the allow the Storm and the Chooks and a few others to basically do what they want as far as the salary cap. That is keeping teams like us, dragons and the Warriors in the cellar, and if we were successful along with the teams I mentioned the ratings would go through the roof and the value of the game.

In any comp there has to be a steady movement of success among all the teams to keep the punters interested. At present the two teams who have dominated for years probably have the smallest fan base and contribute the least to the general well-being of the game.

Will anything change….a big fat no

Until players salaries are made public nothing will change
