I rate Mitch Brown as a player, and as a more or less direct swap for Collis, he is a better player. I can see him starting as fullback

Brown's strength is that he runs/returns strong and at speed ! He runs good lines, direct and uses late footwork.

Better player than Collis….

Don't know why you're laughing at that. Collis has spent more time on the sidelines than he has on the field over the last 2 years and when he has been on the field, he's been ordinary.

Come on he has had 6 great games in that time…..The Try he set up for Liam at Campbelltown under the posts springs to mind....

Brown same potential and pedigree as Collis...Time will tell...

Nothing against Mitch, he may well be a sucess here i hope, but what worries me is the level of player we're recriting. Other than Taumata and his sucess here will be a big IF, our recruitment to date reeks of a theory of buying solid players on the cheap and hoping they can be turned into something better. Other than Ellis, how many players have we bought which you could realistically call a "finished product" or are at the peak of their powers. It seems we're always looking to "develop" players into something else. At times we appear a feeder club to the nrl. It's all a bit strange but also little surprise we're not part of the top tier of teams.

This is what annoys me. I'm sick to death of the theories our coaching staff hold.

I love it when a fan starts stating how much a player is on. How on earth do u know what these 3 players are getting Rare Tiger?

And if by some fluke u are right, 80k for Brown will seem like an absolute bargain by the end of 2010\. He's a great depth signing.

My estimates are rough….

I was just thinking it's a big risk to sign an injury prone wing and, a reserve grader ( Brown).

I'm happy with the signing of Daniela.

Fair enough. Im very confident in what Mitch will bring to us. I'd love to know what Sheen's plans are. I'd start him on the wing, but i know he runs good lines so he good be best suited to centre or fullback. I love having tall outside backs, and thats what Brown is.

Well, he played the last 30 odd minutes for the sharks tonight at right centre.
Definitely got a bit of size, leapt well for one bomb. Some good solid one on one defence & a few decent runs.
One howler of a mistake though when he came way out of the line defending from a scrum & Manly scored the matchwinner from his miss.
Overall looked fairly solid & could be a decent buy.
We'll see next year.

He's a fullback and Sticky has tried to crowbar him into the centres, a position he is pretty unfamilar with.

I think Brown could be good value, the thing that concerns me why all backs where doe,s this leave Moltzen Asyford the players we have brought cover the whole backline . As far as fowards are concerned we have some great talent in the lower grades

13\. Ayshford

14\. Moltzen

Lukewarm

Decent player but do we need another back?? Answer probably not
Do we need an established Prop?? Answer definetly yes

To be honest i am totally underwhelmed by his signing we already have better imo.

Will be happy to be proven wrong

I'm only unhappy with it because we signed Daniella as well who is a similar player and truly we shouldve gone after Inu instead of both of them.

In order I wouldve taken
1\. Inu
2\. Brown
3\. Daniella

I agree that we should of went for Inu, if that was the case, however I am happy with the signing of Mitch Brown. The guy has good size, is only young and has played about 30-40 games in the NRL.
I think he will go alright. Just becuase we dont sign the top players, doesnt mean that these young guys can become top players.

That's a very good point and I think everyone is being to harsh on mitch before he has even played a game for us. He is probably more suited to us than to the sharks style of play.

I dont think the main reason people are unhappy about the signing is because of Mitch himself or his ability or talent, the unrest is simply because we're light on in the front row and a halfback and we buy 3 outside backs …

yeah that's what's more troubling, the lack of props and a halfback, although benji and moltzen seem to be doing fine, but the jury is still out need to be consistent, however, props props and props, we need em
