hey, long time lurker here, just wanted to chime in to say this is quite an interesting thread to watch as a spectator.

have you tried getting funky with the criteria for future versions?

like maybe adding a 'salary cap'/budget so your fantasy 17 man side can't have over combined 750 career tries or have played combined over 2000 NRL games or something like that.

would definitely make things more complicated but would also add a lot of strategy and make it far easier to separate teams/players at the end as it seems a lot of people think all the sides will be way too similar in strength.

someone like Anthony mundine would become super valuable in that scenario. would add a cool dimension.

You can gladly take my spot

What's happened that's given you the irrits? IMO it's a good bit of fun

This is fun
What old mates proposing.... Having to research how many games & points each player has etc won't be fun to me... Each to their own

Agree. Bit too in-depth.

lol I have typed in my pick twice now, and had to delete. Funny if you pick the dude I'm trying to enter @Tigerlily

there are a websites out there that have databases of player stats you could easily sift through

you wouldn't have to necessarily wiki search every single player ha but yeah I get its a bit more homework

how about a draft where each of your 17 have to have played for a different club? and for players that played for more than 1, whichever club they played more games for would count as their club

Jump in the next game (if there is one) and see how you feel about different elements after that. Some good ideas but may make things too complicated

First one was 2010 to 2019. this one is 90s, need something for the next one. Perhaps a particular era, only one player each from each club team (like the All Stars was meant to be), best players since 1980 never to play rep footy, best players ever from every era....

Lots of combinations

I've done a few cricket ones before - and honestly I found them a lot more fun once we started getting strategic with them(for example 'your XI's combined test batting average can't exceed 250' was a really fun one resulting in people having to really dig deep to find undervalued players)

I get cricket lends itself more to stat crunching then footy but I still see potential here!

Sounds good, but I personally want something not too hard. This one with 14 people was a lot, and made it tougher.
