If Kent is claiming that those officiating a Wests Tigers game are exerting subconscious bias then the stats being a 9-5 penalty count and a 7-2 restart count against the Tigers not to mention the reportable incidents that were not dealt with on the field confirm this.
However, what I have noticed over the years it is not what the referees etc ping the Tigers for it is what they don't penalise our opposition for. There is no consistency within an 80 minute game from the officials as demonstrated by Latrell not being dealt with appropriately on Saturday.
Watching the game on Saturday there was a Tigers player, I think it was Laurie trying to get up and play the ball late in the tackle count and the commentator stated that will be a six again restart given it was a blatant infringement but of course the ref made no call. This happens every week but we just have to suck it up and get on with it as we know we won't get the rub of the green against the top teams!!
This is what I try to explain to my father in law who was a souths junior, it is not the penalties that souths get, it is the ones the opposition don’t get for the same infringement. Souths have been on this for years, 2014 was a special
Souths supporters think there's a penalty for them every single play. Just listen to them at a game. They boo every single time they play the ball.
