@ said:@ said:I fell asleep during the players segment….Did any of our questions get answered by Kenty...?
nope :frowning: only answered 4 quickly at the end of the show
they picked crap questions tbh
"when are you going to start watching warriors games to know Shaun Johnson is the most important half?" :S
@ said:Don't expect them to ever ask any hard questions. Its their platform, they control it. They don't have to address anything they don't want to.
On another note, Ikin couldn't model his look any closer to Frank Grimes if he tried.
@ said:With the 10 day cool off it is evident that Woods had already signed at least 10 days before the interview went to air. That would be just after the Eels clash and before the Dogs Game. So the real reason there was no response to the Friday deadline was that he had already signed. In the end, it looks like Woods jumped due to the Uncertainty over the Taylor sacking and fair enough. So when The Dogs resign Hasler on the same day Cleary signed with The Tigers he was faced with a real tough decision. Cleary announces on April 5th that their focus is on signing Woods & Tedesco. How much clearer could that be?
@ said:Yes, you are correct Pratten Park Magpie the player cool offs are 10 business days as per this link http://www.nrl.com/nrl-contract-rule/tabid/10874/newsid/86727/default.aspx Ever since the Tedesco Raiders fiasco clubs are careful not to announce player signings until that period is over.
So we have:
Tedesco announced today 4th May. So he must have signed at least 10 business days ago on Wed 19th April
Woods announced on Sunday 30 April in a prerecorded interview. So he must have signed on the 11th or 12th April. Which means that Woods had signed the day before the Dogs Cafe meeting.
Reynolds … and this is the kicker! Announced on 26th April. So taking into account all the weekends & Public Holidays for Easter and Anzac Day Josh must have signed 3 days after Cleary arrived! Moses contract was removed on the 5th (2 days after Cleary arrived) and Reynolds signed on the 6th! Fast work Ivan! THAT's AN EXPRESS BUS AND I WANT TO BE ON IT!
@ said:Yes underdog, Woods seemed to lose the maths pretty quickly when he mentioned that he hadn't been contacted by the club for "2 or 3 weeks". Let's do the Math then. Oh and remember he first claimed the reason he (& by extension that the other 3) hadn't signed was clarity over who was Coaching next year. No mention of disharmony or dysfunction. But plenty of "I'm just a footballer mate I focus on my game & team" yeah yeah.
Round 1 The Tigers Win big vs Rabbits - all is calm and it was good.
Round 2 Oops flogged by premiership favourites Penrith
Round 3 Oops Taylor sacked after another Canberra flogging - So yep there is uncertainty now. The media were in a feeding frenzy.
Is this when the 2-3 weeks no contact began? Because maybe just maybe the club were trying to secure a new Coach and you said you wanted Coaching Certainty?
Round 4 Webster interim coach loss to the Storm after leading at halftime
Round 5 Webster Interim Coach embarrassing Loss to Dragons thanks to Nofos wing. Cleary appointed Monday April 3rd facing tough FNQ debut. In otherwords - this is the Week of certainty - Woods now knows who the Coach is.
Midweek on April 5th Cleary sets his mark. “Due to the current uncertainty surrounding the salary cap for 2018 and beyond the club has decided to prioritise the re-signings of captain Aaron Woods and James Tedesco,” the statement read. Gee that sounds like a Club communicating their priority to resign Woods and Tedesco.
“As a result the current contract offer that was with Moses’ management was taken off the table by Wests Tigers". So poor diddums MM is on the outer. Sounds like the Moses Management influence is the real problem.
From the same Foxsports report on April 5th “In relation to the Tigers’ captain he’s been linked heavily to the Bulldogs over the course of the last two weeks … I think you’ll find most likely Aaron is going to head to Canterbury and play under Des Hasler". Those last two weeks would be the period since the Taylor sacking. So fair enough due to the Uncertainty he goes fishing. BTW - it was during this period that Hasler's position was being determined by Canterbury. Could Woods concept of Certainty actually have been in reference to whether Des Hasler had a job next year? Funny thing timing - Des Hasler was resigned on April 3rd for 2 years funny thing Certainty - Cleary was signed for this year plus 3\. Hasler only 2 yet Wodds signed for 4 ...hmm. Who be Dogs Coach in 2020 Woods?
Round 6 Cleary Coach Win vs FNQ - A first win under Cleary - surely there's finals hope as well as certainty?
Round 7 Narrow loss to Parramatta after yet again being in the hunt for most of the game (fitness?)
Midweek on Apr 20, Cleary has had enough. Sets deadline to Woods & Tedesco to sign by COB Friday. No feedback from Woods or Tedesco camp. So much for communication bigfella. So Cleary had only just been at the Club for two weeks and Woods claims that the Club didn't talk to him for 2-3 weeks.
Round 8 Great Win vs The Dogs - after Woods shown having a Coffee with the Dogs mid week. A gutsy win vs the team most likely to secure his signature - surely this was enough of a motivator to resign with the Tigers? But no - something had already happened.
Round 9 Narrow loss to premiers Cronulla (after losing Woods & Teddy thru injury) Woods "leaving the club" interview shown next day - He reckons 2-3 weeks no notice from the Club. Hey bigfella it's either 2 or it's 3 - 7 days is a long time in the NRL. Remember there's a 10 day cooling off period.

Less than 2 weeks after the win vs The Cowboys Woods had signed with Dogs. Forget the lack of communication crap. Once Des was back onboard Woods jumped.
But interestingly the announcement of the signing of Reynolds on April 26th so quickly and efficiently suggests that perhaps that deal was done in an arrangement to assist both clubs. Given that you wouldn't announce a signing until the 10 day cool off had passed that means Reynolds signed on the 17th April or earlier. And that fits nicely with Woods signing with the Dogs soon after cos you can't sign a player if it exceeds your cap (The Dogs know only too well about cap penalties). With Reynolds off the Dogs books Woods can sign with the Dogs.
As transactions go that's perfectly OK and as many have pointed out there has been no fanfare or blowups over the departures of Cronk, Foran & Bird. Nope - the real issue has always been the BS over the Big 4 not signing. And had Woods been up front he wouldn't have to have done a sooky interview with the aim to paint a picture of himself as a victim. I blame the plastic headband putting pressure on his brain! And that BS has more to do with the shenanigans of the Player Manager Moses.
