I think you just did
Oh he reads thIs? Or email?
What's your question..?
It will be passed on..
Its 2 tactical questions that bugs me.
1. Why do we(ever since Jason Taylor era) continue to under utilize centres. As in they never get early ball and i find it strange that we have BJ,who is one of the most dangerous attacking centres around, who never got the ball with time to do something. Yes block plays and ttick shots are all good but I cringe when Benji, Brooks,Reynolds and Tedesco back in the day crab accross field and take out any effectivemess from 2 on 2 situaton. Brooks is needs to learn to play direct because he is killing early clean ball.
2. The 50m Bomb that does nothing. With the new rules, 6 again, we might as well kick for the corners and not worry about the result. The differnce from a fullback cayching a bomb to running backwards and turning might not seem kuch but it is 10-15 metres gained if execured. Huge difference. Jonathan Thurston was a master of it. How many times did he pin NSW with those stab kicks? Besides it is such a defensive play that looks ugly on T.v if im to be honest.
Haha sorry I just find some tactics so complexing.
Well that seems more like an Ask the Coach question but it will pass it on..
Yeh it is. Im prettyhappy with the way things are going off the field.
We already have heaps of home grounds but since I live in W.A and id appreciate if we have a game over here one time. Maybe against Souths ?
Well ask that question, I think Madge will probably be on this segment at some point.
I will. I just find attack so generic these days. Remember when we had angled runners? Ellis and dwyer scoring tries at will. Those were yhe days.
Rugby league in recent years has become very much about ruck recognition, this refers to your hooker and other spine players realising when you win one or two play the balls in a row. When this happens you often notice a small momentum shift in a game and the best spine players know how to take advantage of these moments. We had a little bit of success with this earlier in the year with Harry Grant, but for the most part, Tigers forwards were getting steam rolled/ dominated. This means we rarely have momentum and your spine players are playing without time and space. Without time and space you tend to run across field and rush to get your kicks away; that is where we are at as a team and probably explains our clunky attack. I was excited to hear the Curtis Sironen signing because I thought he might help solve this issue. Hopefully Blore or someone else pops up and surprises this year but I fear more of the same.
You are right. The ruck is the key. We have too many forwards that are worried about quick play the balls etc instead of just running hard as you can which will then mist likrly drop a tackler off helping with the speed of the ruck. Apart from Ailoia i didnt see one of our forwards do a dominate hard run.
100% the second game against Penrith it was embarrassing, I’m sure we had negative post-contact metres
