Assistant Coaches

I'd say we need three new assistants. Hodgo is rubbish and the other two can't be anything great. Fresh blood, new ideas, no previous allegiances.

No jobs for the boys. Just the best candidates.

And no to Flanno, even though there's a few good sorts in his stable.

Interested how you've drawn the conclusion that Brett Hodgson is 'rubbish'?

Two very experienced and successful head coaches (Cleary and Maguire) who see him day in day out don't seem to think he's rubbish.

Having a quality coaching establishment is fundamental to the success of our development programme. We need to make sure our juniors have every chance of success when they debut.

Dean Young was a tough forward of moderate size with an excellent understanding of RL and forward play. He played the back end of his career with a knee issue. He is exactly the type coach our young players need.

I don’t think Hodgson is that good a coach but if we want to train up JAC to be a fullback we need a good fullback to teach him so he’s probably worth keeping around.

Andrew Webster needs to go. Dean Young would be a good choice to replace him

What are Dean Young’s credentials.?

Was involved with the lower grades at St George For a long while and helped develop a lot of their young talent, also was involved with the Tonga team last year that did good as well.

He’s always talked about as a good coach that helps develop young guys which seems to be the way Tigers are wanting to do things

I can’t keep up, who’s a plodder now? Young? Webster?

Given JAC will be our 5th fullback since 2018, maybe Hodgo should sit this one out.

Basically anyone that walks, talks and runs like a Teletubby.

Was having a peak around as apart from the higher profile Assistants Barrett/Fitzgibbon/Young/Ryles wouldn't have a clue who was with who ..

So to my surprise found David Kidwell and Mick Potter on the Coaching staff at the Slimey's in 2020..

We need someone teaching the bloke how to play fullback. Doueihi does plenty right at fullback he’s just too slow, Mbye just can’t catch a high ball don’t know if that’s Hodgsons fault.

Potter was supposed to be Canberra’s reserve grade coach this season at mounties as well

The best assistant around is probably Jason Demetriou but he’ll be Souths head coach in 2022.

Adam Hartigan — General Manager – Football

Michael Maguire — Head Coach

Andrew Webster — Assistant Coach

Shane Millard — Assistant Coach

Brett Hodgson — Assistant Coach

Andrew Gray — Head of Performance

Ronnie Palmer — Performance Coach

Steve Hooper — Performance Coach

Aaron Sculli — Performance Coach

Well her is the list in 2020 and the only change within the rumors is Dean Young currently head coach of the Dragons back to assistant next season.

I sometimes wonder if we are over coached????
To many mixed messages????
