Where’s Roycey Simmons these days?

Nepean Motor Lodge probably

No, Penrith Panthers have literally built him a Retirement Village. It is called The Royce.

Not the most recent but an interesting read

David Furner has worked with Madge before, is really close the Tin Sheens, has plenty of experience. Has been at the dogs this year and supposedly hasnt got on well with Barrett but who would

2017. Same year Seibold was appointed and assistant coach at the Rabbitohs.
Not the best year by all. And ironically replaced Wayne Collins.

What’s is Furners legacy? Is he a defence coach?
I’d seriously consider Neil Henry as well, being a noted tactician he may make a great attack assistant with Furner as Defence?

Michael Hagan, he coached queensland SOO team while Mal took all the credit.

What’s he been doing lately?

Assistant Australian coach with Mal.
The footy brains behind the outfit.

Madge had Wayne Collins with him at Souths five years ago....Souths basically forced him to remove him and bring in someone with tactical nous, Seibold.

Madge then appoints Collins, his mate, to assist with us...despite Souths removing him five years ago for being out of touch.

Unfortunately we've been the victims here because he's so worried about being replaced that he's hired the worst assistant coaches in the world.

He has basically hired yes men who have zero desire to be first grade coaches / completely happy to do whatever he says.

Madge and Siebold was actually a great combo...the fearless leader who gave the big speeches + the very well educated, tactician.

For those who say Siebold has not done well at Newcastle as an assistant...probably hoping he gets the first grade job.

That was the problem...Siebold has always been 'the smartest bloke in the room' with tons of ambition. Madge got burnt.

I know things didn't end well for Seibold at the Broncos but his name is often overlooked. We could do with a tactician.

Isn't Seibold at the Knights..

English Rugby Union now lol

Madge made a few changes to our coaching staff last year hopefully he keeps getting rid of the dead wood

Andrew Webster has been our defence coach for years and it hasn’t got much better. Bring someone better in, honestly Dean Pay would be a great assistant coach.

Madge retained Webster..

I know, and I don’t understand why. He’s never shown to be any good.

I'm only guessing but I wonder if it was because Madge didn't see Webster as a future threat. He was badly burned by Seibold.

Dean Pay and Michael Hagan would be good

What makes them good. ?

Michael Hagan as he was behind the coaching of Qld SOO and Dean Pay his defence structures are pretty solid and had dogs going pretty well last half of his season with them.
Both are improvements on our assistants

We need something like the following:
- Defensive coach
- Attacking coach
- Dedicated spine focus - Get Cronk to consult
- Head of Analytics (ours and opponents)
- Video review us and other NRL teams
- Performance & Endurance coach
— Fordwards focus (aggressive running, shoulders and lateral movement)
— Backs focus (speed, agility, shoulders, lateral)

Then the coach can focus directly on tatics, roster rotations and actually breaking teams down.

Right now our coaches look far to complacent and even during last games Madge was saying we trained the best we ever had and got spanked.

I'd look no further than the Wests Magpies coach. What he achieved with a relatively lightweight side which didn't have the highest completion rate shows that he certainly has the players wanting to play for the club and secondly seems to have adapted a playing style to suit momentum shifts with quick counter attacks aka Seibold at South's.
Looks good from a pathways perspective also.

One thing for sure for me is the WT are very clunky in attack even though we score points, somehow we don't tire teams out and they seem full of energy when they have the ball.

Top of the list has to be John Morris right? If Madge stays he should come in, he was getting the most out of a pretty average sharks roster I thought
