Attacking Coach

Just wondering what he is doing to earn his keep?? Even when our five one out trundles up the middle and a kick reap us a repeat set deep in the attacking zone, we seldom look like we have much up our selves. Even Teddy seems to have given up on getting up in the line and causing some problems with his speed.

Anyway the defensive coach always seems to cop it when the team concedes lots of points but the attacking coach seems to always dodge the bullets

Our attacking play "structure" is a disgrace. I have coached under 10's who have easily played to a more difficult structure than that which the first grade team has been dishing up.

These seem to be the instructions from the attack coach this year

* No offload the football, so no second phase play
* anywhere from halfway to the 20 must be a midfield bomb with no spiral or float on it
* no interchange or combination play between the halves
* no combination play between Brooks and Tedesco
* No inside balls for Tedesco or changes of angle
* no people supporting for offloads
* Farah no running or trying to create under any circumstances
* hope the other teams makes a stack of errors and we grind out a win like parra and gold coast
* work towards certain spots on the field and tick them off like an exam
* bore the fans to tears with this repeated 5 hits up and a bomb for 80 minutes
* keep talking about the sturcture and the systems and how it is developing their games win or lose

eddie, if JT only did the same game plan has u have done we would be so much better off.
u are 100% right it seems to suggest that he has no idea of a game plan, i think we may have another crap coach with little or no idea.

Other teams at least target our small men, we send who ever wants a run straight at their big men. It may work once in a hundred hit ups, but the other ninety nine they just get smashed. How many runs does Sirro do on the edge aimed up at a little man–bugger all.

I would not care if we did not win another game this year if I could see we are working towards something big and are getting better every week, but we are playing a very very basic game plan and doing it badly. Maybe they are just bored and can not get themselves up to play the so called Taylor's structured game plan, who knows. Anyway we now make the Sharks look like entertainers and we are the boring Bobs of the NRL

I can understand that the coach may want to take a safety first approach whenever the team is camped in its own half but a more expansive game is required in the opposition's half than what we are currently playing. Also as in yesterday's game there comes a time when you are behind on the scoreboard that you chance your arm even in your own half as the opposition's defence is compressed given you are continually going one out. More second phase football is required to put pressure and doubt in the opposing team's defensive line.

When in the opposition's quarter and close to the try line why doesn't Taylor have Taupau running wider off Moses and targeting the smaller players in the defensive line like we are exposed to with Moses and Brooks when defending our line. We need to execute our plays far more slickly than we currently do, for instance ensuring any grubber kicks in the opposition quarter are not kicked so hard as to result in tap kick as Farah did yesterday etc etc. The attacking coach at present has his work cut out for him this week and beyond!!

Hard to argue with that summation. Very disappointing.
