Australian of the Year - Dylan Alcott

Just did a google search on Grace Tame cos that’s how up to date I am. I note she’s a advocate for survivors of sexual assault. Weren’t there rape allegations in Parliament about a year ago that he completely stuffed up on? No wonder she looks like he just farted.

Her response is completely fine under the circumstances and considering her position.

Tame was a surprising choice and she turned out to be a bloody awful sulking idiot.
Alcott embodies what this award is about…he is a champion on and off the court and loves the country to death. He will be a terrific ambassador and through his multiple platforms, will get shit done. Massive congrats to him.

Oh hell, where to start? I assume you're some old guy, like me, but I don't want you to think, for a nano-second, that your derogatory comment of Grace Tame is representative of how we think.

I would like to think that the country that Allcott "loves to death" is not the one represented by you and your vile attitudes and comments about the 2021 AoTY.

And, for some bizarre reason, you then want us to trust your judgment of the quality and character of Alcott and what he can do in his role as 2022 AoTY.

Grace Tame and Dylan Alcott are, from my understanding of them and their achievements and aspirations for my country, are magnificent people devoted to current and future change in this place. Unlike you, they have the capacity, courage and support of many, many others to help them make us a better place.

Please keep the emotion out of your replies if you want to be taken seriously.

That's too funny. So YOU describing Grace Tame, 2021 AoTY, as a "bloody awful sulking idiot" is not emotive language?

I missed that earlier, else I would have addressed both it and the audacity to suggest sticking to commenting on Alcott after opening with such. Anyone that liked that post needs to have a think about themselves.

That look that Tame gave Morrison reminded me of that Latham hand shake to Howard moment.
She sould learn that you catch more Bee's with Honey then Vinegar.

Slomo has proven himself time and again to be a complete idiot, not sure why people have to pretend they like him at all.

I didn't say that I liked him, I just say that it was a lame look from Tame.

Exactly. Respectful disagreement should be expected on forums such as this.

Agreed

Grace Tame is all political she will end up representing Greens or Labor down the track
Good choice Alcott

Seriously, what a stupid comment. Morrison's a flog. Tame treated him as he deserves. You just hate the fact that someone dissed your hero.

Alcott is a character, I enjoyed him saying how Sauvage and the other fella (forget his name) were inspirational for him

Kurt Fearnley. Another top bloke, gave someone I know’s kid an old racing wheelchair he had and supported them to compete.

Absolutely inspirational bloke as well. He crawled the length of the Kokoda Trail on his hands. Always comes across as a beautiful fella whenever he has been interviewed.
His autobiography is on my must-read list.

Kurt lived in Bathurst for a fair few years, studied at CSU and was always training at the local sports ground.
He would stop and chat to anyone that was there, 100% champion guy, same as Dylan.

Also did a great job as the presenter interviewing (often similarly inspirational) others, including a wheelchair rugby player.

Great stuff?
He doesn't believe in limitations. Absolute champion.
Do you know if Kurt has ever been the Australian Of The Year? Would be well deserved.

Really can't think of too many people he could legitimately lose out to......that year it might of been one of their token PC selections to please the woke of the world?
