Ballin - Another Knee Reco perhaps

It was a joke signing a 30 something coming off an ACL.

Exactly. Let's all get worked up about one of the best players who has ever played for the club. The guy has bleed for us hasn't he. How many games has Ballin bled for us again guys. 1 reserve grade game and 30 minutes of average footy in firsts.

Fair enough it'd suck to go through that but we are paying him for nothing. Terrible signing that was probably done just to placate JT's ego.

This does not surprise me at all.

I was at the Broncos game and Ballins wife was sitting in the Away Supporters area (off topic … Not a bad sort).

One of the guys with her asked 'how is his knee'. Which pricked my ears up. She responded that it was 'okay' with a funny look.

Obviously he was not anywhere near 100%

There was a tackle against the Broncos where he was put down in front of the posts where he looked like he almost did the splits. Wouldn't be surprised if that's how it happened.

Poor guy, deserves better.

So if he retires, does his contract come of our salary cap eg. Watnough

I think Watmough's didn't count because he didn't play at all this season

Ballin's played a good 50-60 scintillating minutes so he's counted

Too soon to put him in the Tiges hall of fame?

In all serious though, never good for someone to get injured and you have to feel for him

dud signing tho

Hindsight is a great thing in life ..things just do not work out at times ,good luck Matt sorry it did not work out for you .

Was not hindsight for a number of fans who said signing an ageing hooker coming off a knee reco was a disaster waiting to happen.

You slam the club for being inept but give them a free pass here

Agenda driven stuff.

It was announced during the sport that Ballin has told team mates that he needs another knee construction. It was mentioned during the story of the Farah-Taylor feud.
We need Robbie more than ever now. Sorry Taylor.

If True, I do feel sorry for Ballin, and wish him well. And a good recovery.
But quite apart from that, are we now going to buy another hooker ? The folly of buying a player that was such a risk is laughable at first, but gives an insight into the thinking of Taylor, and is now a disgrace.
He was bought to stir things up with Farah . Fantastic work JT.
This is Gilligans Island , and you've done it again JT.

Maybe someone's trying to tell Taylor something, have all the Hookers United to make him look stupid.
Firstly , use All our hookers ( that are fit , that is), but only put some on for a few minutes
Then Robbies back but Ballin was still out, then play both, but Ballin only lasts about 5 mins. Then drop Farah from the team. But Ballin than drops out again, we use Halateau who shouldn't be there, plus a back rower.
Who's next JT ? Probably Lovell.
Comes round 14 and he plays ducks and drakes with Farah about who will play.
What will be his excuse this time,
How much longer is this club going to accept this blokes laughable actions and comments, to say nothing about his so called coaching.
He has to be the most unprofessional NRL coach that I've seen.
Welcome to Loony Toons

Not hindsight, a lot of us said at the time, it was a bad signing and only to spite Farah

Ballin is a great guy.
Damn shame, he's a championship player.
Forced retirement, perhaps…

He is a fitness guy (Personal trainer)
Maybe we could keep him around in a certain employment position....

Exactly it was an ego driven signing from JT, one we didn't need or want, I feel sorry for Ballin to be dragged into JT's games and wish him a speedy recovery.
But wow the odds of signing a 30 plus hooker who has done his ACL and getting a good result are astronomical, this is just another great JT decision.

Good idea, he could probably teach our blokes a thing or two, I wonder if he can coach.

I wouldn't put it past him.
That guy is a natural leader & humble as.
He'd be valuable to us in some way, if he is unable to play.

Dumb acquuisition from the get go ….
Let's sign up pensioners with bung knees ...
Where do I sign up ?

Sign on the dotted line Hobbo if you are a pensioner

tough luck matty, wish you best of luck with the knife and rehab.

i think he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. JT bought him in case farah left, but didn't think about what would happen if farah didn't leave. a real shame all around.

cherringon, im not sure if he's the right replacement yet. he however, does deserve a long stint at hooker.

i thought it was the wrong decision to sign him from the get go, then went back and forth about it. in hindisight again, i feel it was the wrong decision but im guessing the club didn't wanna miss out on a premiership winning hooker on real low $$

A blokes career is possibly over, yet all some here are concerned with is feeling justified or getting a few brownie points.

Classy as always

Not for some of the supporters around here. His service during that time was awesome.
