What's the verdict this week Flash? I assume the Tigers will enter this match as favourites?

Surprisingly the Reds had a draw with Cronulla last week but from what I saw of the Reds on the NSW Rugby League website I think 40+ to not much.

If anyone is interested the below webpage has highlights of some of the Junior Rep games, look on the top right of the page just under the NSW Rugby League Emblem.

A double header at Concord, very exciting stuff, it's a hard decision for a Wests Tigers fan this weekend, do you go to Parramatta Road and see a rare glimpse of a Western Australian team plus the bonus of the great BRET side or do you go to the mean streets of Lidcombe to witness the Fibros V Silvertails + SG Ball & Harold Matthews.
I'm from the other side of the Great Divide and wish it was possible to do both, alas I'll probably stay at home and watch the V/8's but follow the games via the net, 3 places to be but just the one me, d'oh!.

I reckon Ill try and get down to concord and check out SG Ball if I can….
Got to get it past the other half tho.

looking forward to checking it out

They're a very good side Goose. Hope the poor weather doesn't impact on their attack too much.

Geez, Balmain are destroying all before them so far. Who were the standouts today?

Have to feel sorry for the young blokes from the West but they're getting a taste of the big time for them and hopefully when the next expansion comes around the young Reds players are battled hardened.

Mitchell Moses is a great talent… He will surely be playing NYC later this year!

Geez the boys gave it to the Reds #17 :righton:

I don't like to single players out too much but Moses was again outstanding getting another 3 tries, again we started slowly with a bag of errors but the Reds were impressive in the first 20 minutes and we did well to hold them out in the first half. We really need a hard hit out but won't get that for a couple of weeks until we come up against St.George, Cronulla and Manly in the last 3 rounds. Still everyone will be up to try and knock us off our perch.

Good to hear Wests beating Newcastle in the Ball today.

Melbourne in Melbourne next week for Balmain.

Great weekend for the WT junior reps … Balmain thumped WA in Ball & had a bye in Matts, whilst Wests ground out their first win in Ball against Newcastle whilst the Matts cup maggies scored at the death to also win (after trailing 0-12 at half time).

i'M a bit curious about the draw in these comps however.
9 rounds and the Tigers get Matts Cup easy beats SWSAS & Roosters, also Norths whilst poor old Wests seem to have drawn wall to wall muscle ... any ideas how all this is decided.
Is it just luck or does someone down at Phillip St or Narrabeen have some Duckworth Lewis kind of mathematical equation ???

Just luck I believe. Balmain has had some shocking draws in previous years.

The draw is ridiculous they should be seeded on last seasons results, 1-3-5-7-9-11-13-15-17 should be 1 group and all the Evens in the other with just 1 cross over game. This gives everyone a fair go.

the mysteries of the rep draw!

When I saw the tigers draw it looked very favourable, hopefully it is there year

This is just how bad and unfair it is Balmain have played Parramatta away for the past 4 years, bad enough having to play them but 4 years a row away is just crazy. I am not sure about the years prior to this but it may be more.

Balmain Tigers have extended their unbeaten run in the SG Ball Cup with a dominant 52-10 victory over the WA Reds at Concord Oval.

Balmain Tigers 52 (Mitchell Moses 3, Leva Li 2, Max Dimarco 2, Daniel Rakvin, Manaia Cherrington, Mason Farrell Tries; Mitchell Moses 3/5 , Matthew Woods 3/5 Goals) defeated WA Reds 10 (Waqa Blake, Anthony Poi Tries; Steven Komene 1/2 Goals) at Concord Oval.

The Tigers weren't at their best, at times looking dis-jointed, but were simply too classy for the Reds as they ran away with the game in the second half.

After taking a 20-0 lead into the second half, the Tigers gave up momentum early in the second as the Reds closed the gap to 20-10, but the Tigers were too good in the end, running out big winners.

Again five-eighth Mitchell Moses was the star, with a second straight hat-trick, while centre Leva Li and backrowers Salesi Funaki and Daniel Rakvin all put in good efforts.

The Tigers looked a bit rusty to start the game in tough conditions, but were the first to cross, with Daniel Rakvin running off a good Mitchell Moses ball to score. Moses missed the kick, but the Tigers held an early 4-0 lead.

Hooker Manaia Cherrington again showed his class as he split the Reds through the centre of the park to set up the next try. After breaking through the middle, Cherrington sent the ball to the right, where good hands from Funaki sent Li over for his first.

Cherrington then got himself onto the scoreboard, scooting from dummy half to score. Moses converted his second try, extending the lead to 16-0.

Max Dimarco was the next to cross in the corner, with Mason Farrell and Rhys Armstrong combining well in the lead up to give Dimarco the space down the touchline. Moses missed the conversion, but the Tigers took a 20-0 lead into the break.

It was the Reds who came back from the break firing, scoring two tries in the first seven minutes of the second half to get themselves right back into the game.

It was centre Waqa Blake who got over first in the right corner, before forward Anthony Poi barged his way over, with conversion narrowing the gap to 20-10.

As the Reds started to gain momentum, the game got more physical, something that was to the Tigers advantage.

After Funaki forced an error with a quality tackle, Mitchell Moses broke free with a beautifully executed scrum play, outpacing the Reds defence to score. Matt Woods grabbed the conversion and extended the lead to 26-10.

Mason Farrell then got in on the act, stepping past Ben Whitley to score, with another Woods conversion pushing the lead to 32-10.

The Tigers continued to lay on the points, with Moses grabbing another two tries with some good support play, while Dimarco and Li both grabbed doubles, crossing out wide.

Coach Andrew Webster was slightly disappointed with the Tigers lack of intensity early in the game, but was still very happy with the result, which leaves the Tigers atop the SG Ball ladder alongside Manly and Penrith.

The Tigers travel to Melbourne next week, while the Harold Matthews team return from their bye to Leichhardt Oval to take on South West Sydney Academy.
