By a strange quirk of fate I get to live out my fantasies right now. One of the first grade team has the same name as me, even same spelling. I even get his facebook friend requests!

😕

It wasn't a great performance. I thought Farlow and in particular John Clayton were excellent and Sam Latu was always running powerfully.

The side seemed to lack shape when in an attacking position. I guess that comes when your half and 5/8 are on the sidelines. Dissapointing that AJ didn't make the trip down to watch his team either this week or the last though.

Now because we won I feel better saying this but the reff. A Mr Bowen is a downright cheating dog. Bad calls all game. allowed second and third efforts on a tackled player and constant raking at the ball in multiple man tackles from Shellharbour with not even the hint of a penalty. At one stage in the first half Nicholls chipped over the top, a Shellharbour player threw his hands up above his head and knocked it forward. The ruling from his mouth "Not Played At" he refused to talk to the Captain of Balmain at all about decisions and was just downright terrible.

The man is not a bad reff he is a blatant cheat

Smeg, i`ve only seen him play once, but noticed John Clayton is a big unit who seems to run the ball very strongly, how would you rate his defence and more importantly how does he appear to go when defending the quick blokes with footwork around the middle of the ruck. This is obviously one of Sheens` main concerns before ever considering any prop from the lower grades.
Only reason I ask is because Clayton appeared to be fairly athletic for a man his size when I watched him go around.

hahaha alrighty then hahaha

Well done Balmain!

Wests Magpies, Balmain Tigers, Wests Tigers first grade and Wests Tigers Under 20s are all in the top 8 in their competitions!!!

Today was the first game he really got good time on the paddock that I have seen.

Defensively he was excellent. Great line speed and closing the inside gate going that extra yard. On one occasion Michael Lett created a half opportunity for himself and Clayton came of the ground where the offload happened and shut him down cold. He was always at marker even on quick PTB.

Definatley a guy to watch

Thanks for the report Smeg, seems like our 1st and BRET didn't really get a fair go this week in the reffing dept.

It is very sad to hear that AJ, didn't make the effort to watch BRET…...I tell ya, the more I hear about Arana, I am finding it very hard to like anything about the bloke........Can't see how Sheens can qualifly that he has put his head in , done the hard yards, and deserves a spot in the starting 17......to me, it's another kick in the face to all the hard working reserve grade players, in both Western Suburbs and Balmain, that get overlooked for their efforts by Sheens and his coaching staff, for some "johnny come latelys" :brick:

I am not entirely sure of AJ's transport etc so I wouldn't be too harsh on him for this especially yesterday as Shellharbour is no small trip
