Banter, when does it cross a line?

Can you use someone's kid to create a meme and mock the team they support?

Great discussion. Alot of valid points.

To my knowledge, the friction didn't start with the photo, but when my mate asked his sister in law to stop, at which point she mocked him... Then it escalated..

Personally, that's where I think the line was crossed.. the meme is ok until it's not ok. Not backing off was the issue here. Ppl get sensitive with their kids so I get it.

They still aren't talking 4 weeks later.

Might have to see if I can get an invite to their next family get together 😄 😄

Winning fixes everything. My Mrs has zero interest other than she wants me to be happy, so that’s the Tigpies winning.
Sounds like your child brainwashing techniques need help so the Grandies are cheering for Tigers.

Wasn't sure where to post this, so mods feel free to move it. Keen to get some input from others on an issue that has divided opinions in my group of friends.

A mate of mine currently has an issue with his sister in law of all people, who turned a photo of his 2 yr old kid (crying in the photo) into a meme as banter, to mock the footy team he supports. I won't say which team, to remove potential bias.

Ive been told there has been banter between them for years. But to complicate the matter, there's some conjecture about how my mate interacted with sister in law's kid a few years back in relation to another sporting team (getting him to support his team and not his mum's). This part is a bit cloudy and it's hard to understand what actually happened. The kid at the time was 7 or 8?

I understand it's always more sensitive when it comes to family, but is a meme of a kid taking things too far, or is it ok in a closed group chat?

I'll save my thoughts on it till I see what the community has to say.

P.s. it's a good distraction from the current tigers drama haha 😆
Internet drama...

You go the old fashoned way. "Hey, this crossed the line. You used my kid's photo without permission!"

"ok I am sorry. Retracted"....

"Great, now can we have make-out sex while your Hubbie is away 😉"

Boom, done and the only paternity test needed is to see which jersey the newborn gravitates too!
