The NRL has advised Wests Tigers that the Battle of the West Membership competition has gone into extra time.

With Wests Tigers, Parramatta and Penrith unable to be clearly separated at the original 5pm Friday cut-off time, the promoters of the Battle of the West in consultation with the clubs have agreed to extend the competition to allow fans to sign up as Members and provide a clear winner of the competition. The winning club will receive $10,000 from the NRL.

The new cut-off time will now be 5pm, Monday 7th March.

Wests Tigers supporters who have yet to sign up as a 2011 Member still have the opportunity to help the club win the Battle of the West and the $10,000 prize on offer.

Speaking on the success of the competition to date, Wests Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys said the response from Wests Tigers supporters had been simply amazing over the past week.

"We have worked hard to provide our supporters with a number of promotions and opportunities to interact with the players this week and we have seen a significant spike in Memberships as a result,'' he said.

"Our crowd attendances are regarded amongst the best in the game and it is fantastic that a large percentage of these crowds will be Members in 2011".

oh far out lol.. Tigers had this in the bag!! .. i bet the Eels and Panthers had a winge and asked for it to be extended lol .. sore losers!!

can't decide whether this is good or bad.
Its bad because we were winning and should have the 10 grand
but good because itll mean more people rushing to become members

Meh…it's only 10k, which is biscuits to any NRL club. I guess the biggest thing out of this is bragging rights but I think it's good to see the Battle of the West extended. More NRL members joining up, in particular for the Tigers, the better.

Hey Its complicated guys, seriously….

If only we had some sort of magical device which could count the number of memberships purchased within a given time frame..... some sort of machine, with circuits and transistors, which could then display a definitive number of transactions to some sort of public receptacle, on a virtual... what would you call it... almost like a bulletin board.....

hmm.... nah, sounds like hocus-pocus and wizardry to me....
