BEAU RYAN!

Doing everything right - but wish he wouldn't take so many dummy half runs .
Maybe he forgot he's not the winger.

Another thing about Beau I like is that he often takes a lot of first hit ups from set moves. This takes a lot of balls as he is running at a set line and often gets hammered by the props who are way bigger than him. He doenst get dominated though and from his quick play the balls, Woods or Keithy take the next hit up to a slightly fractured defensive line allowing the side to get a roll on.

Beau used to bomb tries and now he creates them. A few seasons ago he caught a pass whilst standing in touch. Totally reinvented as a footballer, that's what rugby league is all about.

There was a time when I thought Beau was only picked cause he was a good bloke and great for team spirit. Man hasn't that changed and I am so glad it has. He is one of the first picked each week now in a team full of super stars. Well done Beau

since 2010 this has happened -

* Beau has gained half a yard of pace. Noticed it last year with his tries vs the Panthers (the 80m intercept) and the Dragons
* He still punches well above his weight for strength in tackles (see Vatuvei) and hit-ups.
* He can finish a move. He's agile enough to stay mid air when looking for a grounding, and has scored several tries like this.
* He obviously has a bit of vision, and has some brains about him - that try he setup for Chris Lawrence - brilliant - and didn't look like a fluke.
* Is the glue that keeps the team together. Sings the Team song after a win with such vigor, and is ALWAYS first one there to congratulate on a try, or pat a head after a mistake.

I think the big change has been his concentration and attention to detail. He's always had talent but he'd drift in and out of games sometimes. He seems to have worked hard on that and his vision these days is close to faultless. The try from Marshall's grubber was a joy to watch. Ryan was perfectly positioned, Marshall had the vision to kick, the kick itself was flawless, and Ryan's timing was so good he had an age to wait for the right bounce and score.

Beau Ryan should play origin in the 3rd game because by the NSW will have nothing to lose. But for mine, Nightingale is the best winger in the world and in a class of his own.

I have always considered Beau a very similar winger to Nightingale and I think this year he loses nothing by comparison. He's incredibly reliable and he's the one winger/centre I don't worry about when a bomb is put up - he always seems to take them with confidence.

playing really well at the moment, his kick for Lawrence to score was magic, would it be fair to say Beau knows kicks in play?
