Beau Scott

Let's look at this rumour.

Parra are over the salary cap and so far offloaded Ryan Morgan, Watmough (retirement), Junior Paolo and Nathan Peats.

Both Michael Gordon and now Beau Scott who are both at the end of their careers are the most likely to be moved on if Eels want to retain Corey Norman and others.

From my understanding (please correct me if wrong) but Beau Scott has a sick child who frequents Westmead Hospital hence the appeal of moving to the Eels.

If he needs to be close to Westmead and moved into the area he would be reluctant to move again and out of area.

Teams local to Parramatta area.

Penrith - Have already plenty of back rows and let ET go to us. Unlikely option

Canterbury - Again a side blessed with heaps of back rowers and are looking at resigning Klemmer, Jackson and Eastwood. Unlikely option.

Wests Tigers - A local team, short of a hard nosed second rower and have demonstrated in recent weeks they are prepared to move players on to free up capo space plus Parra will foot most of the bill. If rumours are right Sirro may go to Manly and Fine to Canterbury.

Based on the above I can see some merit to this rumour and WT a likely fit.

Even given his age he would still provide a lot of up sides.

ET, Ballin and Grant are experienced, NRL proven players which we have lacked in the past to compliment our current players and juniors.

I agree Scott would also attract other players to our club.

A big YES from me especially if he is available mid year and Parra footing most of the bill

Aren't we supposed to be broke?
If it's true that he's gone, we should abduct him now , and not release him until he signs.
Probably is BS, but if not and for some weird reason we got him,
We might have finally got ourselves a genuine hardhead, who opposition forwards don't like to run at.
He is exactly the sort of forward who will make a difference, there's nothing Soft about him

Not as broke as Parra .. lol

We have had more signings recently than wins for 2016 so it seems
Who has injected money into WT ? Or have we taken a leaf out of Parras book …

Yep, i hear you and agree

Big yes for me he's a gun.

11\. Chris Lawrence
12\. Beau Scott
13\. Elijah Taylor

if it happens that is a mouthwatering back row IMO!

Sign him up for the rest of this year and next year!

Been what we have lacked for years. Okay he would be a two year man at best but you would hope the up and comers would learn from him. My only reservation is every time you import a given first grader you block the pathway for a up and comer and than they can loose interest or get impatient and up and leave

With Chris having a new deal in place we get cap relief, also if Sirro goes we get minor relief as well. Add to this Parra would pay some of his contract then its hard to say no.

I'm not his biggest fan but with him on 1 side of the park and ET on the other our halves / centers have great protection. He is quality no matter which way you look at it & at 32 he still has 2yrs left in the legs to teach our youngsters a few things.

Some talk around that he been offloaded from the Eels and that we are in talks with his manager to have him by June 30 deadline.. Here the link to confirm this.

Thoughts??

Don't want to burst any bubbles, but I think it was one of those satirical news articles that someone may have taken seriously.

Something to do with Parramatta board not trusting him because he has two first names … "beau" and "scott".

So yeah, make of it what you will.

I thought that with money left for not getting Klemmer we were using it to lock up Taylor and Sue and also JAC , let hope we keep them first and if the storey is correct and we can fit him in so be it but it may need a bit of outside deal money , he would be chasing $ 500 k I would think
parra $ 150 k
Tigers $ 300 k
Outside $ 50 k

And only for this year and next , option in clubs favour if past that ,

But it's only a story that may have some truth as I heard that the Eels were $ 600 k over next years cap

Would be great if true. Harry this is where you come in. Beau is the missing link, the final piece, which would see us go a long way in 2016\. Not to mention the next few years because of his influence on the young blokes. It is obvious to me that is this was to happen, we would see semi-finals 2016 and the next few years after than at the very least. This purchase would turn around the club, success and support! Harry after the great news received in the last week. This should be your first action / support as a reward for your efforts and hardwork

OMG I hope this rumour is true. What an incredible addition Scott would be.
Tigers make this happen!

Will Halatu will play the rest of the year in NSW Cup if comes?

IMO, atm Lovett > Halatau.

IMO, atm Lovett Halatau.

Same Same but different.
They are both low impact players who never bend the line, don't have speed, rarely offload and in defense are only periodically good tacklers. Both offer little upside. Meh to both.
I'd have one Beau Scott over both of them.

if Beau comes, Sirro will go….

For the sake of Sirro it's best he goes elsewhere anyway he needs a change of scenary, don't think there would be many suitors anyway.

As for Beau Scott a 1.5 year deal would suit us just fine.

Great defender, with attitude and grit. Also strong with the ball in hand.

Yes please, exactly what we've needed for a long time, and what Aloiai, JJ, and other younsters (maybe even Ava too) need alongside them right now to learn from. To say nothing of helping Moses in D.

If it means we no longer have to decide between playing Dene or Kyle that would be a massive improvement - they can both play State Cup, until Dene retires at end of year.

Scott is apparently only on 350k with the Eels. We could probably get him for 50-100k for this season, and maybe 250 for next season.

An 18 month contract would work and I'd take him above Aloiai, Lovett, Halatau.

If he does get injured again it would give the kids a chance to play. Plus he's always been a Tigers fan, not that that necessarily means anything. But being close to Westmead certainly does.

IF it is true they're looking to offload him, which isn't totally improbable, we'd be in with a very strong shout.
