A smart operator would realise there isnt any suitable option, as Benji isnt a typical style player and is too eratic. Time for someone at this club to make the tough decisions and either move Marshall to Fullback and buy 2 halves to guide this team around the park, or get rid of Marshall.
He isnt a 'great player', he has always been an 'exciting player' and that is where it ends...
Move or bye bye!!!
**We've not "tried" to find anyone to compliment Benji**, otherwise we would have picked up another half who had a decent kicking and passing game like Jeff Robson or Luke Walsh.
There has been no effort whatsoever (apart from Lui, who was another five eighth anyway,) from Sheens to find a bona fide half who could provide the basic kicking game and level headed approach that the WT desperately lacks.
14 attempts since Scott Prince tells me we have tried to find a suitable option… The biggest hurdle in this scenario is probably our ability to attract any decent halfback. Do you think any Halfback who has the goods is gona want to come and play in the Farah & Marshall Show and have no real input???
I still think Benji is a good 6, but its our inability to attract someone which concerns me the most. How many more years are you prepared to wait???
@supercoach said:@benji#6 said:You guys bagging Benji are kidding yourselves. Where was this talk last season or the season before that? Buy a decent halfback and the old Benji will find his mojo. Too much pressure on 2 players in our side. Farah and Marshall. Farah on one hand is trying to lead by example, but Benji is trying to win games on his own. Without a decent 1 or 7 we are going to struggle. 7 players out last Sunday and I got what I expected. Take 7 players out of ANY team in the comp and see how they go.
How many players did they have out round 2 through 5 ??????????They have been abysmal all year
@Tiger Watto said:Two problems with your concerns…
1\. Moltzen isnt a Halfback (100% a 5/8)
2\. Reddy isnt a Fullback (75% a 3/4)
Hindsight is sometimes confused with Blind-sight...
Moltzen was probably the best option to replace Teddy, and Miller was probably the best option to replace the guy in 7, but one of those 2 didn't happen as Sheens was confused with the enthusiasm of Humble... See, Blind-sight has struck again!

Madunit listed the candidates, and many of those combinations involved moving Marshall to half. Mat Head was the only legitimate tried and tested half we have had in the position since Prince.
If we threw the money at our halfback like we do our second row, we'd have locked up a top 5 (or at the very least a decent one,) half long ago.
Sheens is not willing to engage a halfback who will take control, and that's what we are missing! Any bet Bwaif will be played at five eighth next year and Marshall will continue to play half. Anasta will make a better halfback than Benji, and for all his faults, he won't run the ball over the sideline on the first 30m from the opposition tryline, or run it on the last 20m inside our own half.

Like I said in another thread,pick players on form and in position,you don't have to be a super coach to know the basics,unfortunately for us Sheens does neither.
