Benji 'if we make the finals no one will want to play us'

I think half our problem is we get so much press and it is so far out of whack with what the team is delivering. The sponsors love it, we dont have to win and we are on tele every night. Benji has taken over from Willie Mason as the walking back page.The dogs get a bit of press but we get double what everyone else gets in Sydney and it is not doing us any favors if you get my drift. I say you should earn your media standing on what you deliver not on some television rating survey.
Imagine if we actually delivered, they would have a 30minute show on us every night after the nine news!!!!!and Benji would be hosting "who wants to be a millionaire"

I might get flamed here but I actually think he is right. We are not a "form" team in that we are very hard to read. One week we look really good (dogs) the next ordinary (Roosters).

If i was an opposition coach, I'd be thinking, "I will go in with a game plan and probably get over the line but if the Tigers come out and play -WTF am i going to do? I don't know who is playing where and how do I make a game plan for a team that doesn't really have one themselves".

IMHO - we are easier to predict based on who we are playing. We tend to have our b1tches (Sharks. Raiders) and our bogeys (Roosters, Broncos).

Based on that, and our record against the Storm, I would say we'll do relatively well on Saturday - may not win but we will be competitive.

Well he was talking about a hypothetical situation where the Tigers actually make it. I wouldn't want to be in a final against a team that just beat Melbourne by 50+ points either.

To be fair to Benji … This comment came at the end of the grab. From memory, he preceded this by saying the Tigers had underperformed, been disappointing etc ... I've got no problem with the remark when seen in it's full context.

This is what's gonna happen, Benji. On Friday night the Panthers will shock the Broncos, opening the door for the Tigers to make the top 8\. On Saturday we'll be leading the Storm 24-12 with ten to play, only for Melbourne to score two tries from inside their own half and tie it at 24-24 with two minutes to play. We'll then piggyback them down to the 40 metre line with a play the ball penalty and Cooper Cronk will kick the game-winning field goal with 30 seconds remaining.

Then on Sunday afternoon the Warriors will crush Canberra 66-16\. I cannot think of a more apt ending to a season of wasted opportunities.

He's right no one would want to play us in the finals, would be like a training run for the opposition except our defence is softer than tackling bags.

Problem starts & stops with Sheens uttering "attaboys"in Benjis ear regardless of whether he does something really dumb on the field and/or talking to the media,so much so that Benji has now become self delusional with no reality filter
Benji actually believes this garbage that were actually a threat…when the consistency of our own mediocrity has ensured we wont even be there!
Im beginning to think that Benji is part of the problem too,although he's probably still young enough to be coached by someone who preaches smarts/discipline/accountability(which sure aint Sheens)!
Unless he sheds Sheens in a hurry he's going to be remembered as a player who never achieved his full potential
