Emotional scenes.

Thanks for the link. Very emotional indeed. Both the videos in the article and the article itself. Tiger is done!

^ Yep, seems like fundamentally he's a good human being, the game could do with more like him - There are (still) some serious pieces of shit involved in the NRL playing group.

Yep, I dont know how we produce more good kids in the current environment. Benji will hang around and no doubt try to help. Our team in 2005 was a crop of young naïve but good kids. I don't know you manufacture that again now. Other threads i'm sure on this.

No excuses for the DV perpetrators and other unsavoury acts.

💯

I can't condone that stuff.

The Benji days were the best footy days that I have ever experienced. They were exciting, entertaining, and at times nerve rackingly diabolic one moment, and brilliant the next. If I could relive it all again I would in a heartbeat. Family favourite in this household and always will be.

I reckon Robbie is the best but I'd always appreciate the good games Benji displayed his skills.

2010, 2011 were some real stand out years.
Roster was great, jerseys were amazing.
Benji was at his best.

Was watching the 3 game Benji road show on fox earlier while doing a little training and gee we were a footy side in 2005 and 2010/11. And really thought Benji was super in 2009 as well, we might have made the GF instead of Parramatta if Tui didn't break his leg.
But gee that Cronulla game in 05 as I posted elsewhere that was the game they finally believed in themselves and let loose and we believed in themselves.

As for the negatives on here, it reads no different to 2006 to 2009 really.
Truth is all geniuses polarize.

I attended nearly every game in NSW during 2010 and 2011. I didn't know how rare what I was seeing back then was going to be. I wish I could go back and appreciate it more but I was so into it back then I don't know if I even could, and a major reason was Benji. He was a main event every weekend. He did some truly incredible things in those two seasons.

He was pretty good, but he's no Paul Momirovski

How can anyone forget the Huth in all this ...one half of the Twuth .....soon to become Avengers superheroes

As long as I don't see Sheens as a coaching director with Farah and Marshall as co - coaches I'll leave this alone .....

But you tore our hearts out a few times Benji ....being the elephant I am ...I can't or won't forget

Wayne Bennet gave his longest speech in HISTORY and he and Benji both spoke well. Probably the nicest ending to a RL career I have witnessed. Wayne doesn't talk for more than a minute if has too .... for those under 18 or under 80 in IQ. And he hailed Benji a 'legend'.

It is interesting how fond Bennett is of Benji. I believe that is 100% the only reason Benji didn't retire last year.

He made me wanna get off my arse and get to the game
We were lucky to have him at his best....

Who have thought a skinny Maori kid with a Kramer haircut would be as good as he was

Am i correct in saying that the 05 era is offically quote on quote "over" with benjis retirement?

By that i mean there r no more players from that squad playing currently

Yeah if there was one thing i always used to think it was when Benji was at his best we were always a chance of winning.
