@Tigerpete said:All i know is that Mayer plans to meet with Benji and Tauber early this week. Anything else that gets said is all speculation. We've had Benji to the Warriors, Blues, Wharatahs, France, Japan, Broncos. Heck, he can replace Ed Cowan at number 3 in the ashes. In others words…..i'll wait till its official.
@jas83 said:On twitter Glenn Jackson from smh is reporting that Benji will seek a release from last 2 years of contract

@diedpretty said:@pHyR3 said:Agree ink, about the cambo stuff. Very disappointing, it's such a large and growing area and I simply don't understand why we can't tap into it better. Know lot's of people living in cambo for a while who are simply NOT tigers supporters. You'd struggle to find that in Balmain. I've never lived in cambo so I'm not sure what the issue is or how to solve it but the club needs to make an obvious effort to rectify it.
That signing before a cambeltown game in macarthur square was a nice start, but nothing since then.
the difference is that the Balmain area has had a team to support for over 100 years - there is a culture that if you are born or live in the area you are a tiger supporter. Campbelltown is different - no team to support until a struggling magpie outfit moved there - there was no previous culture - the magpies were building that culture until times changed - WT have failed to build on that culture and have alienated a lot of people in the area - the other problem is that a lot of people move to the area from other parts of the city and continue to follow the side they previously followed - i would think that would be true of people form Balmain moving to the northern beaches - they wouldn't start following Manly ( at least i hope they wouldn't ) - WT need to recognise and promote the area as theirs and start building a long term presence and culture.

now pay brooks and moses 300k a year (each) for the next 4 years.

They are yet to even debut and you want 300k contracts given to them for 4 years. I hope you don't have one negative post on Adam Blair.

for the potential they have shown, its a bargain. we were originally going to have marshall on 700k a season till 2017..
so in that same period of time, we get 2 x players… only one needs to come through.. and we still save $100k a season (probably more)..

This is professional rugby league. Not the share market. You don't give a player who is yet to debut 400k a season for 4 years.
Just ask the Sharks about Filiga. The 200k a season player who never played first grade. The next SBW.

Don't necessarily agree with MTD but Doggies were paying Klemmer 350k a year before he debuted.

:roll you are a raving lunatic. You want to dedicate 2.4million to two blokes who may not make it? How about we see if they can handle first grade before we shower them in gold?
