The curse of the NRL season launch campaign strikes again. Sorry I couldn;t say who, but I couldn't.

the wording of the first sentance is interesting.

The police only want to speak to him at this stage….

Hopefully not too bad....

The moment he was announced as ''the new face of the NRL" I thought of this 'curse' and immediately checked myself thinking - dont be silly.

Really makes you start to wonder…..

Wouldnt be too worried. How many times have people tried to fight Benji in the past?
I'm sure the truth will come out

Unfortunately, this time could be different. Let's wait to see how the police investigation pans out. I'm guessing he will be interviewed tonight or tomorrow.

that's my initial thought too

A "small" laceration? Just a shove and the munted kid probably thought "sweet, this my shot at fame! I'll go straight the police!"

that's just my thoughts from the little detail given in the media release

Simple rule of thumb is this happens when Benji isn't involved or in the area than this doesn't even goes to the cops.

Not making excuses etc as I don't know the details but in reality unless you get bashed badly and it is unprovoked why bother with the cops

It also makes you a huge target for all the nutters out there.

Let's all take stock and wait until we hear what Benji has to say.

Wow… didn't think Benji's name would come up. I have heard some negative stories about him lately though.

Hopefully it's nothing major. Giving someone a face cut isn't exactly exactly a sack-able offence.

Thanks Chris. Wasn't easy. Again, I apologise to those who wanted to know who was involved, but I've been there, done that, and I'm not going there again.

Lets hope nothing too big here. This could be our year. We don't need drama before its started. 😢
Channel 9 just closed there 5:00 news saying they will have more at 6:00pm.

latest word is that Benji isn't answering his phone
don't know how true that is though…

who'll want to be the face of the NRL next year? hopefully not much will come of this, doesn't sound too major at this stage

So some clown decides he'll prove he's a big man by taking on a high profile player, gets a split lip for his trouble, whinges to the cops and now it's a big story…

A non-incident of epic proportions by the sounds of things.
