Benji Marshall Knee Injury?

I know one thing for sure and certain, we are not capable of scoring more than 12 points (and that`s being generous) against any side in the competition without him.

How long is he out for? Medial means season right?

No it does not. Anterior cruciate is season ending. Medial is nowhere near as bad…From the official Wests Tigers website:

BENJI MARSHALL TO HAVE SCANS ON INJURED KNEE
19/06/2011 6:09:54 PM

Wests Tigers five-eighth Benji Marshall may miss the vital clash against the Canterbury- Bankstown Bulldogs at Campbelltown Stadium on Friday, June 24.

Marshall has a low grade medial strain in his left knee. He will undergo scans tomorrow.

Hopefully he gets positive news on scan; Most likely to miss Dogs game, then Bye & possibly back for Rnd 18.

Fingers crossed thats as bad as it is!

If he's out I reckon we start looking at next season. Get a half to partner Benji. Get a fullback and rebuild Robbie's game completely.

Spot on mate, the halfback and fullback are problems for the tigers and have been since we let Prince and Hodgson were let go. Sheens attempts to make halfbacks out of Farah, Marshall, lui and Moltzen have all failed dismally and to compound this we have a coach whom obviously doesn't think much of the the U20's halfback Jake Miller. I don't like seeing players get injured but Marshalls injury could be a blessing and young Miller might get a run. Marshall has been playing poorly and anyone who says otherwise has got the Tiger goggles on. He looks disinterested to me and he just wants to throw the money pass on every set of six and it is costing us possession and the opportunity to build pressure on the opposition and putting unnecessary pressure on our defence. There's no doubt that Marshall is an exciting player but I am afraid he does not have the football brain of a Thurston or Lockyer to lead the Tigers and that's why we need a organiser inside him who knows when to give him the ball, not just give it to him every set so he can throw money balls that rarely hit there mark.

Tonights news Channel 7 Benji is out this week, has the rest during the bye week as well, then should be right to return the next week (Eels game).

I think channel 7 most likely are speculating, theres nothing on the net.
2SM Talkin sport were waiting to hear from the Tigers, nothing before they went off air at 7pm
