Combined then well..

I think the Donkey;s are done for 2016 more importantly…

Good call Geo, it really makes me happy to see the Donkeys falling apart. They nearly got run down by the dragons. Hahahahahah :roll

I was really hoping for a Saints win - they are no threat to anyone going for those last couple of spots and a loss to the Broncs would have seen them continue their slide backwards. Not a great result for us.

Yeah, seems to be below his best but still capable of a flash of brilliance, many years since he put two good games together.I've posted about this before but he seems out of sync. with the Dragons backline, they don't seem to have any idea what he's going to do and seem to slow/back off/hesitate when he has the ball.

You watch him play like this then laugh when you think of how we supposedly shafted him. Really if that was true, can you blame the club? He's played like a lost child since 2013.

Benji shafted himself

Exactly. We handled that situation well.

To the point, Marshall handled it well. He saw the writing on the wall and looked for other opportunities. Potter merely had to put Marshall on the bench and then followed Brooks' debut. It was as clear as day that Marshall needed a change.

If he hung around, he would have likely been put in State Cup….

In his prime he was great. I often watch the Bonstoker highlights on youtube of his "15 minutes of mayhem" and marvel at how good he was however he was very poor last night.

His strength now is his defence and that is saying something. His kicking is poor (although it has very been great), His passing was terrible (it might be better if he looked at who he was passing to) and his game sense seems to have reduced. Getting tackled on the last play last night was a big error although given how he was kicking maybe it was the correct play…...

I can't see why anyone would buy/resign him. St George need better.

I think part of the problem is that the team has to play to him, he doesn't really play to the team. He puts balls where he thinks people should be or he runs cross field looking for runners cutting back or decoys but they don't come. Since the Bennett days the Dragons have been a very structured attacking team and Benji still plays off instinct. He's just not a good fit for that team and won't be unless and until his own players learn to read him better.

How could anybody be surprised? Apart from 2 decent years when he was with us he has always been average. In my eyes he will go down as the most overrated player in Rugby League history.

Rough. He may not be a great of the game, but he certainly deserves more respect than this. He inspired many people to not only play Rugby League, but play it in a free-wheeling manner. Anyone who can inspire a generation in such a way is a person worthy of respect.

Inspire a generation… please. Jonathon Thurston will inspire a generation. Not Marshall.

I can only assume that you have something against him. Kids practiced the flick and no look passes because of Benji, he helped change the game, if you can't see that you're not looking

I agree. And as for Thurston, he was once a total grub referee abuser, remember the 2005 Grand Final. Benji has always been a great role model for youngsters learning the game.
