@Balmain Tiger said:hmm thats interesting about gower..i didnt even think he was in the squad?
@Balmain Tiger said:oh fair enough, must of got resigned just at the last minute. though i do know that when players arent wanted at the club they can choose if they want to stay though it will result in a pay cut.

Does Gibbs have any real potential?

Yeah,BT, I just hoping that Sheens gives David a fair go this year…..he knows how to do the hard work , and hopefully with be a surprise package as my customer stated. Heaven knows our top squad needs help in the front row department, and so far this pre season is shaping up well

Which '05 deadbeats would they be? Halatau is the only notable one that has left this season and Fitzhenry (and to a lesser extent Fulton,) have returned… I also hope thats not a stab at Skando... 😕
Would love to know what sort of cash Gibbs, Payten, Morris, Collis and Halatau were/are on to force the likes of Hodgo to look to SL...
Assuming that we don't sign Tuqiri, this is my side:
1\. Moltzen
2\. Tuiaki
3\. Ayshford
4\. Lawrence
5\. Brown
6\. Marshall
7\. AJ
8\. Galloway
9\. Farah
10\. Cayless
11\. Heighington
12\. Ellis
13\. Fulton
14\. Flanagan
15\. Moors
16\. Gibbs
17\. A. Fifita
@towntiger said:I think what people actually miss with Gibbs is that in many cases he gives away a penalty to save his team (2 points better than 4/6 etc.). Very smart player actually, sure he has his explosion at times but more often than not he is saving a stretched defence.
One i can clearly remember is when he chased down Hayne (big effort on its own) in Rd 24 and then laid on the ruck feigning injury. Sure he gave away a penalty, but he guaranteed they didn't score on the next play.
Gibbs is also one of the fittest props running around. I think he will have a big 2010.
@Tiger_Tomato said:I'm not sure if you are giving him more credit than he actually deserves. I think he will play his part in the team and is a very solid defender. Perhaps a bit slow at times though. I doubt he **chased down** hayne!! It must have been a case of right place right time! Surely
I'm tipping moors to be a good signing. If he is as big as people say then he could easily play front row and add a bit of mobility along with Galloway who is pushing rep honours.

Gibbs did stop Hayne…...he's done it on more than one occassion in different games...
Gibbs is most often the first forward back to take the first or second hit up.....his workrate in defence is better than most second rowers including ours...he's not lazy.....
Giibs attack has been soft and ineffectual untill last season....where IMO he showed glimpses of being an effective metre making PROP....he stepped up when Galloway was injured and finally started to get through the advantge line...some want to get rid of him now......
If anyone is going to benefit from Folkes conditioning it will be Gibbs......
I've said it before... _**2010--The Year of Bryce**_....wouldn't surprise to see twin Tiger Bookends for Origin.....
