Benji played 04 in the centres

Yeah he did, but he was only playing there because Sheens refuzed to play him at 5/8 because he didn't think he was ready. It wasn't because Sheens was trying to turn him into a centre.

Notwithstanding, he was still playing at centre.

If we go back to the orignal point, Milford_ Magic was talking about how Sheens has a history of failing in trying to convert players to different positions, and that included Marshall in the centres. Why would you consider Marshall in the centres a failure when he was only playing there in a stop-gap type role till Sheens deemed him ready to move to 5/8? Its not like Sheens penciled him in long-term in the centres

When was Benji ever a centre? lol

Someone gave you the answer. His adaptability to the position or not isn't the point, he was playing centre…

more big forwards 1 or evan 2 , mason should ahve been signed , bennett will get him going , we could have done the same then we would only need 1 more

But it is the point CB, because thats how this whole conversation started. He claimed that Marshall was a failure in the centres. 2 or 3 games in one position doesn't constitute a failure when there is no long term plan. Just because he played in the centres, didn't neccessarily make him a centre. Therefore he has NEVER been a centre. For example Moltzen has never been a halfback, yet has played a handful of games there. Thats what you would consider a failure

You'd think we'd be looking for front rowers???????????

Whats wrong with this club?

We may be still looking but maybe its not public Ink I imagine Vela will stand up next season , but we still need probably two more if Big Ray's not sticking around

There was intent to play Benji there cause of his elusiveness and footwork. he played him there all trials. It was a stupid experiment when you had itzhenry playing in the 6\. Again its just another name in the long list theres probably a fair few more.

No there wasn't, he was always a 5/8\. At the start of 04 everyone was calling to play him at 6 from the get-go but in Sheens stubborness he refused. Not because he didn't see him as a 5/8, but because he didn't want to burden Marshall with such a pressure position at such a young age. He used what he did with Laurie Daly early in his career as an example as to why he was nursing Marshall along

My recollection is consistent with this. Sheens always made it clear he saw Benji's future as a six. Sheens is a great believer that players should begin their first grade development in non-pressure positions.

Do u think that's why miller has been held back from 1st grade?

 He played for Australia as a halfback and we've won most of the games he's played for us in the 7.
But don't let facts get in the way …....

Was it intentional that you left out the word 'Schoolboys' to make your arguement look better? Because you make it sound like he played halfback for the Kangeroos. And while we're talking about facts, you never let the fact that Lui was our first genuine 7 since Prince get in the way of your constant bashing did you. People in glass houses. And if he's so good at halfback why has Sheens given him the arse after only 3 games after training there the whole off-season for a guy who before this yr only played 6 FG games? Your dedication to this man is nothing short of astonishing ck

FACTS??? 😱pen_mouth:
You do realise that more than half those games were 3 years ago don't you??
since then he is around 50/50
F%#K If we are basing our opinions on form from 3 years ago….
I'd probably deserve a run!!
:crazy
Ever heard the saying... "Only as good as your last game"?
Moltz's last game was marginally better than the one before...
It was a slight inprovement, If he keeps it up...
By September he may actually live up to your elevated opinions.....

Don't worry GNR We have all noticed. While Moltzen was running away from the high balls the other week he was saying how safe he was under the high ball. Good to see family support But don't let facts get in the way.

Gee sorry - he played halfback for the JUNIOR (not schoolboys) Kangaroos .
The reason he still isn't playing half is because Humble couldn't handle fullback.
As for Lui I think he was over-rated even more than you think Moltzen is- that's my opinion , you're welcome to yours.
Lastly , I'm not dedicated to Moltzen - just dedicated to sticking up for someone who cops constant and often undeserved criticsm because he happens to be friends with Marshall.
I don't think he's had a great season so far but it's better than a few others who get left alone for whatever reasons.

@RLW_Mole: BREAKING: @sydneyroosters have beaten off a bid by @WestsTigers to re-sign centre BJ Leilua. Big decision on eve of his rep debut for City!

Good we need a half back and prop.
