Of the other teams **I like the look of** Newcastle under new coach Wayne Bennett and **South Sydney under Michael Maguire**. Both have strong groups with excellent young players coming through.

cannot agree with this. souths will be terrible next yr. their halves will be a rookie and john sutton. enough said.

as for the rest of the article, i cannot wait till the manly game! such a shame its at gosford though. Even with manly's small legion of fans they wouldve got close to 30,000 if it were at sfs

My mail from high up is Souths fitness will be at a very high level, something that has dogged them since they came back into the comp. Souths boys never knew what a 400 was .now they are doing 4x4 sets.
They will struggle in the halves , but they have a great forward pack and if they get a roll it will make their halves job a lot easier. my tip top 8 for sure.IMO Newie will be the same as last season.
Wests have the players to go all way this year, and anything less than a top 4 finish will be disappointing imo.

NYC usually starts at about 5:15 on a Friday night

personally, i am really hoping there will be nothing resembling the blight that was the battle of brookie. i would hate to see my tiges involved in something like that. having said that, i cant stand the stewart bothers (intended) and cant see them not going after blair.
loved the article title, btw.
as for slater, i agree. i have always really disliked him and his bragging type attitude, but in that game i too developed a new found respect for him how he handled wolfman after that. i say good on him, regardless of his past.

I reckon the Tigers will back Blair up nicely in the game against the Eagles and this will help cement the bond.

You'd want to hope the bond is cemented the week before against the Sharks, with Gibbs and Fifita. I don't know about Gibbs, but Fifita will definatley be looking for a bit of biff

fifita needs to grow up….

Not sure that sets of 400m, is the way to go either, maybe he thinks he needs to mentally toughen them up, 400's are great for that.
They would be better running 40 sets of 40m for a pure footy fitness sense.

Hope theres plenty of aggro from AB but nothing regarding reports or suspensions, it would be madness if he gets himself sucked in to something that could see him missing games after only 2 rounds

Legally of course.

Would love to see Brett Stewart return the ball into broken play, beat a couple. shimmy a bit, then just simply not see Blair coming.

**CRUNCH!!!**

- Brett spills it, Blair picks up the ball, then STEPS PAST GLENN STEWART in under the sticks!!!

THAT would be Tremendously Epic
