whats with sheens and small backrowers
dead set
why have a great centre and move him into the second row?
Like he doesnt need to move
We have Fifita, Dywer, Gower etc who are all bigger and better then him at being a forward
theres nothing wrong with him playing in the centres
why make a problem when theres no problem

He might not be lightning quick but he is definately faster than some people say. Also has some size aswell. I'd keep him in the centres.

I don't see the argument here… Our problem in depth lies in our forwards. Our whole entire backline would shine if we had our forwards moving like they should. Ayshford is a complete footballer, and last year has proven that he has got a long way to go before he reaches his peak. He doesn't belong anywhere other than the centres. He complements Lawrence who is a more impulsive and ad-lib player, Ayshford can always play sustainable and sensible footy.

By "Ayshford is a complete footballer, and last year has proven that he has got a long way to go before he reaches his peak" I mean he is already brilliant and has many years to improve on it.

Naah…All our players are crap.......none of them would get a gig at another club that's why they stay here...

I mean Ayshford is a poor man's Kenny-Dowall....

Oh wait ......wasn't Ayshford a Rorters junior.....Bwahahahaha....1 for the good guys....

Another young gun who STEPPED UP to the mark under Sheens....agree with previous poster...will only get better....

I totally agree. Ayshford has never had a bad game for the club and is a rock on our right side.

A lot of people say that he is not strong wen its quite the opposite he would have to be one of strongest in the club footy wise, he may not throw up big numbers in the gym but his core strength and the way he carries himself in attack makes him very difficut to bring down. Adding to this he has a great body shape for Rugby League that tall Greg Inglis stye frame with long arms and long legs maximises his strength all he needs to do is drop some puppy fat and fill out and he will definately be in line for some rep honours.

Also he is very quick he may not have blinding pace such as Lawrence off the mark (lets be honest not many in the NRL are) but he definately is as quick as if not very close to Moltzen and Marshall.

Ayshford is a big lad & as mentioned before i don't see him staying in the centres much longer.
Some might not agree but i think he could be an excellent lock whch he has played before & i think with him at lock it would bring a better balance to our squad, with Fulton moving to the bench and being our utility

Yeah I think he will end up at lock eventually too.

In the meantime he is doing an excellent job where he is.

He is doing GREAT job where he is.

Most good teams have backrow type players in the centres and when balanced out well it works a treat.

no need to move him, there is way to much talent coming through in the backrow anyways, with guys like Hyland and Dwyer

The LUI-AYSHFORD-FITZY combo was slaughtered today. Amateur type reads.

We can't have those 3 on the same team ever again if we want to go anywhere. Harsh, but it's true.

Lui was a terrible reader of help D in the Toyota Cup and the NRL is exposing him. He can hit if he gets them, but that's not good enough at this level. Reading the overlap and inside ball = woeful.

Ayshford and Fitz just as bad today. Parra will destroy us down there if there aren't changes.

The bench also needs a massive overhaul. Some blokes had the nuts to say that last week and good on them. They were right. Not just who is on the bench, but how it's used.

20 + straight points before the half today….........every man and his dog could see we were tiring...........but two subs weren't even used.

Sheens needs to drop the pre match set plan and adapt to what the hell is going on out there.

Very weak in defence. Ayshford tried his guts out but didn't have support on either side of him.

The problem is that none of them can read the attack. They all stand back, arm grab and hope. If we were playing a poorly coached side we don't get exposed….........but Smith is a smart coach and he worked it out early in the week and absolutely slaughtered us down that side.

I like Sheens, but he just doesn't react. Modern footy is a chess game. You can't simply sit there whilst we leak 20 straight points in the first half and are out on our feet and say "but I don't plan to use my extra subs until 20 mins into the second half". Adjust to what's happening or perish.

I have watched every game Lui has played (except this one) and he has always defended well. I think its a bit harsh to say the NRL has exposed him.

I don't want to sound disrespectful Southern as I know you are in China and probably didn't see many toyota cup games.

But he was absolutely killed in last seasons TC finals….....go and watch the GF and look at all the tries conceded off inside balls on his side.

I like the kid and want him to succeed, but good coaches are going to expose him.

CNX Im aware of that. But you said he has been exposed in the NRL and I disagree with that based on all other games apart from today.
