Obvs dislike Gal, but much respect.

He could have done what SBW did and kept on knocking out duds, but he took on a massive challenge and almost went the distance.

Tough bugger.

Gallen is a genius... getting paid over a million for this fight. He's not beaten anyone else decent and manages to get himself a title fight and pay day, well done ?

Its not a title fight

It's for the Australian heavyweight championship, no?

I stand corrected. I didnt think it was, but apparently it is. Surprised and a poor indictment of Australian Boxing.

Yeah, Gallen has not beaten anyone of note really, all about the pay day.

Entitled to chase and get paid the money, not entitled to chase the title, should be earned.

Huni himself was “only” 4-0 coming into this fight.

And Australian HEavyweight Champion, I assume, based on the first 3 of those fights. Its not the number its the quality.

His debut fight was for the title.

There you go......and three fights later fights a footy player. A sad indictment of Aus boxing.

To be fair he could fight Faiga Opelu for peanuts watched by nobody or make decent cash and get name recognition fight box head Gallen. He probably made a quarter of a million tonight for a glorified training bout.

Well not on those wages. No way Huni bothers unless the purse is at least 50/50

Yeah he’s durable but out of his depth. No way I’d pay PPV money to watch him fight but he has an entertaining style.

Oh I understand it, and I dont really begrudge either of them making the coin, but IMO it should have not been allowed as a title fight. Maybe reduce the rounds or something.

Turns out not to be an issue.

Huni used it as a warm-up, wanted to go the distance.
Never looked threatened.
Poured it on in the 10th round, got the TKO.
Gallen tougher than I thought, still easily outclassed.
Entertaining fight watching huni pick him apart.

If that’s the best Huni can do he won’t go too far.
Gallen is an old footy player, not a boxer, and still hung in.
He will need massive improvement.
Credit to Gallen though.

Gal might not be a true champion in the ring but nobody can deny the bloke's courage. Broken ribs and he still fought on. Amazing!

So in his first real boxing match Gallen was dominated and humiliated as expected. (I don't count footy players, old MMA cans, and fat ex boxers who need the money and take a dive.)
It was easy money.

He easily outclassed Gal. Way ahead on points. Some questions over Huni’s ability to put a bloke away but to give Gal his due - he is probably a lot tougher and harder than many professional boxers.

Huni promised a long painful night for Gallen.
Why would he go for an early knock out when he knew all he had to do was pick Gallen to pieces and finish him whenever he wanted to.
I f you listen to everything Huni's camp said would happen before the fight he delivered as per the script.
They wanted to punish Gallen while taking no risks and that's what happened.

Gal is not a good boxer.

Cardio faded quick and no power in his punches.

Huni won't be a gold medallist ether.

Head like a beaten favorite and last night he showed why - 'Kid Mo' can certainly take a beating.

Gal's a tough nut. It's never easy to fight a professional boxer much younger than his age but he did well to take it through to the 10th round. Respect! Congrats Huni for smashing the cronulla hardman.

If he did have a broken rib, he would have found it difficult to breathe. Not sure how he carried on? Guess it depends on the extent of the break?

This is a slightly different style of boxing, its a take off from chess boxing, its called Rugba boxing.
