Braith Anasta

This is the height of how ridiculous and clouded the hate towards him has become. Suddenly because he’s done the dirty on the club, he suddenly has no ability and is just a 10 game wonder. It’s pretty embarrassing and fickle how easily views can change drastically on a player because of his behaviour off the field.

Reminds me of that 10 minute period a few years ago when we thought we were signing Trell and everyone suddenly adored him, back slapping him for going and being a volunteer firefighter. Then he signed with Souths and he was back to being a POS. The psychology of a sports fan never ceases to amaze me.
Years of the club been F over by possible recruit rumours, players and their managers wanting out as well pathetic decisions at the top has affected Tigers fans.
Wild swings in emotion have resulted from euphoria at a possible signing to bitterness at any disappointment.

Have to admit after a promising start with the recent turmoil I'm feeling some emotion myself especially now that the promised exciting signings have not happened, the delay is making me anxious.

Basically everyone in the media has an agenda:
1. Some act as player manager/ club assistant coaches/ club admin/ act as player agent mouthpieces (Gus, Braith etc)
2. Some do it just for clickbaits (Willie Mason, Weidler, DailyMail, Fox/Buzz etc)
3. Some have very obscure views thinking things were better in their time (Tallis, Joey)
4. Some have very strong allegiances (Fittler, Slater, Cronk)
5. Some just give you no opinions (Smith, Slater, Sterlo back in the day)

I honestly cannot think of any commentator, pundit, analyst who actually gives you unbiased, balanced views on a consistent basis. The closest I can get to is the Bloke in a Bar team but they go on for 4.5 hours throwing every possibility out there and covering their asses with every opinion possible.

Maybe that "perfect journalism" just doesn't exist and if it does, I haven't seen it yet. I truly feel you see a lot better balanced views on here by some posters than the so called "experts".
This post should be pinned as ‘required reading’. A succinct education on NRL media. Well said.

I would settle for reliable and honest journalism. All of that goes out the window when gutless journalists like Chammas and Weilder put their names to contrived rubbish prefaced by "sources with knowledge of the situation talking on the condition of anonymity....", and then follow it up with fanciful garbage for which they can never be held accountable, probably lifted from a casual comment on some forum. There are no more leaks coming from the Tiger's camp unless Richo or Benji talk in their sleep, and if Chammas or Weilder were in receipt of such information, they should have the courage to either withhold the article on the basis that it has no substance, or name and shame the dishonest person behind the leak. I'm sure if such a person even existed, then Richo and Benji would like to know.

Say what you want about guys like Denan Kemp and Justin Horo but I honestly believe they have less agenda than legacy media.

Legacy league media is performance art. Wouldn't surprise me if before each episodes they cast themselves into roles and positions. They can also be mouthpieces for people around the game as their job depends on access to information, so they have to be very careful not to put certain people offside.

The alternative with things like Bloke in a Bar and Levels is they are fairly recently retired and their model isn't around rumour-mongering it is about genuinely chatting about the game - like how it used to be. They have bias, which at least they are pretty open about, but they genuinely love the game. That is more than you can say for the "journo's" and gossips on fox and 9 who honestly think they are bigger than the game. I honestly don't know how anyone can sit through NRL360 night after night.

I never rated him, he has played a handful of good games and some think he is the second coming of Wally Lewis, not fickle at all. Maybe you view him as a potential superstar, which is your opinion but plenty of fans thought he was overrated from the get go. I was gutted that Latu injured himself when he did or this clown would've been getting bashed in KOE Cup. It would be more embarrassing if a supposed fan of the club supported the turd after the way he has conducted himself, players come and go but some go with dignity and class.

Yeh agreed.

I'm driving close to 30 hours a week so consume a lot of RL media and agree with what you've said.
