Breaking News

unfortunately 'agreed to terms' doesn;t mean a thing.
Until both parties have signed all it is is fodder for weidleresque speculation.

Hope the speculation comes true though…

Softlaw!
I like it! I like it! "Weidleresque" ! Wonderful! Meaning, I suppose: ' Speculative, of doubtful authenticity, a bit petty with a hidden agenda'.
Keep up the good work.

**Storm's NRL title defence looking solid
October 5, 2009 - 6:03PM**
>
Plans for Melbourne's NRL title defence will start on Tuesday with coach Craig Bellamy's confidence boosted by the fact the Storm will have the lowest turnover of players since the purple reign began four years ago. Bellamy will lose only two of his 2009 premiership winning players - Steve Turner (Bulldogs) and Will Chambers (rugby union) - and possibly assistant coach Michael Maguire to Wigan.
>
But unlike the three previous seasons, Bellamy has significant replacements ready to step into the team with NSW winger Anthony Quinn and Kiwi internationals Sika Manu and Chase Stanley available next season. Quinn (neck) and Manu (leg) missed the premiership win with season-ending injuries, while 20-year-old utility Stanley is set to join Melbourne from minor premiers St George Illawarra.
>
In 2006 and 2007 Bellamy lost three players from his grand final sides, while last year he was decimated by the loss of six stars. Bellamy said the relatively small turnover in 2009 was a good sign for continued success in 2010\. "We will be a bit more settled side next year," said Bellamy on Monday. "Obviously Steve Turner is a huge loss and Will Chambers going to rugby union.
>
**"We lose a couple of other guys too but I think they're the only two we're losing from the grand final team last night.** "I wouldn't say we have to work harder, we have to work a bit smarter at times. "I'm learning as a I go as well and hopefully I can work a bit smarter next year as well. "Hopefully we can kick off the season on a good note next year."

Gee …......Hope Bellamy had a few too many and can't remember who esle is going......what would Al think!!!!!

I heard from my mate 'Al Delvecchio' Lima agreed to terms with us 4 weeks ago !!

I read on South African Rugby webpages that Tuquiri has not and will not have any interest in him in South Africa and he is staying in Australia for sure.

here it is…..Lima agreed to terms 4 weeks ago.....Bellamy thinks Turner and Chambers are the only 2 going.......

Bug is never wrong......

it doesnt matter if we get Lima or not but he isnt sounding too positive about coming to the tigers and from all reports wants to stay in melbourne.
and as for Lote, people are going on about the sponsorship dollars etc that he can bring. but ar we forgetting the reasons he is out of rugby and all the indescretions he had there? he could be coming to redeem himself in league a la Dell but will all that money be worth it on him? im not too sure.

Tuqiri would be worth the money in just media exposure.

If you can sign a player like Lote then you would be incredibly STUPID not to. He would be fantastic.

big dell plays for the camera and lote isnt such a character. benji is our media exposure.
id only look at lote if we were offering him a lifeline. I wont be happy if we loose some of our under 20s crop by signing lote for a couple of yrs on descent money and he cant hold a first grade spot. And i say this cause in my opinion he was every lucky to ever play for australia in union, and didnt exactly set the super 14s on fire either.

You are kidding if you think he wouldn't hold a first grade spot in our side!

He would walk into any team in the comp.

All this signing talk has elevated our mood levels, its taken away the dissappointment of not making the 8\. It would be majorly dissapointing if we didnt sign any of these 3 players. And Lima looks so happy and content kissing the NRL trophy.

Not sure what is more frustrating the Real Footy season, or the Silly Season which we are in now.

In a nutshell, french rugby $800 000 a year, tigers looking to get 3rd party sponsorship. Has had 2 talks with tigers, they are looking to play him at fullback.

Didn't they reject his asking price which was around the 800k mark?

I was told 4 weeks ago he agreed to terms. The only issue was theWT were going to see if the Storm would pay some of his wage.
