Brent Kite possibly leaving Manly

I don't think he has started playing poorly because he signed with us but I do think there has been a coincidental dip in his form lately. He certainly doesn't seem to have the same impact that he had last season or even earlier this season before the injury.

Or he's not playing to that form any more because he isn't chasing a contract and "the pressure is off". He should fit right in here!

Saw on Twitter this afternoon from the RLW Mole that Kite is a big chance to come to the Tigers as the price is right. First Anasta, then Cashmere, now Kite, Camp Concord sounds like it's turning into a retirement village. I wonder what night Bingo night is? Tuesday, perhaps? Sheens calls out the numbers. Who ever lines up 6 in a row first is that week's five-eight!

Kite would be a very good buy for us. Cashmere out - Kite in is an extreme positive. Kite has had a career best season in 2012.

Alex Yes bingo night is Tuesday , but Sheens plays and Roycie will be marking his cards for him

My understanding is that will be either Cuzzo's or Jumper Leeds job in 2013 as the caller as long as we don't get many injuries
John Grant's name is also being thrown around Probably our most important position to fill in 2013

Can't ever have enough props and but you will find that Kite will probably become a utility player and slip between 7,6 and 9

He could teach our younger props a thing or two. Like how to raise your knees in tackles. Don't want him at the club. Never been a fan of him and I'd much rather take a pass on another geriatric prop forward. Woods and Galloway to start. Pettybourne and Bell on the bench. Moors and Fotuaika for depth.

It's a 2 yr deal with manly topping up the 2013 contract. So he is great value.
Manly do not want him to go but they have to lose him or 2 or 3 young guns.
He will be an excellent acquisition while the young guys grow chest hair.

Will be a great signing this year we had one injury in the front row and couldn't win a game because we didn't have the depth. Neither pettybourne or bell are starting props kite is and his 3 prop combination with woods and Galloway will be awesome but more importantly when one is injured we still have 2 top class starters

Will still come down to whether Manly can get someone to take over the full contract and if Kite can deal with being a bench prop in my opinion

I feel Kite will start with Galloway coming off the bench?

Also off contract in 2012….this always concerns me....I havent seen him this involved in the past.

That said, he's a prop....a PROP!

Still, we could sign GI and he's probably look like Jarrod Croker playing for us.

Thats the impression I get also. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Kite spend some time during the game at lock, maybe 10-15 minutes. Have all 3 props on the field at the same time.

Is he off contract? I thought Manly we're paying half his contract next year?

ye dont mind the idea of kilo going bench and kite starting

stilll:

8\. woods
10\. kite

14\. gal
15\. bell

depth: ??

we need a couple props in case of injury, suspension or bad form. for some reason, i have a feeling woods will get injured or out of form next year, idk why, but just do :frowning:

imo unless they're VERY good, i wouldn't consider U20's props as depth. we need a couple more props even if we do sign kite.

Hopefully Matt Groat is on the treadmill for the next 5 months. Could do with him turning the corner as well.

he's still unproven there.
this year we had bell, KG, woods and groat.. 2 of them unproven, one succeeded, one failed.

realistically, you would want 6 props (4 in the 17, 2 depth) in your 25\. we can't afford to carry 3 unproven props there.

Groat's still young for a prop. He looks capable but he really struggles with the pace of the game. I agree he's unproven but I wouldn't write him off yet.
