Brent Kite possibly leaving Manly

folks dont give enough credit to pettybourne. i think he and woods will be the stand outs next year

If we can afford him, sign him. He's not someone I would have chased, but there aren't that many experienced props out there. Makes you think why they didn't make a play for Richie Fa'aoso. Anyway, this will leave us a halfback, centre and back up fullback to find, not to mention coach.

I would sign one more prop, either Masoe from the Chooks or Dodds from the Broncos, both seem to be on the outer with there clubs. Both these blokes are big & can play & with Kite one of these blokes would give us a lot more depth.

I'd think we'd be lucky to get one let alone two of those gentlemen…

With Woods ,Keefy and Kite I reckon we would have the slowest front row in the NRL .

That should concern us , we need our props to be at least reaching the advantage line or we will have the same problems we have had basically since our inception .

For this team in its current form (with the players we have signed for 2013 ) to be effective our forwards need to be getting us in good field position the majority of the time or our backline will be trying to attack from 60-70 metres out the majority of the time .

Many of you seem to be bracketing Kite with the likes of Bell, Cashmere and Pettybourne - this is nuts! The guy is an Australian, SOO and Premiership winning prop! Please WT sign him up asap.

Ryan O'Hara was a SOO prop too! I think when referring to Kite, the best word to use is "was". There have been a lot of injuries since then.

For what its worth, I think he deserves a shot.

12 months of Tim Sheens and he could be the next Nick Graham or Ryan O'Hara

Lets say the glass is half full, and players we sign will develop like Ellis, Bell or Utai

Tamou also revealed he had enormous respect for Manly veteran Brent Kite, who could be playing his last game for the Sea Eagles.

The Cowboys saw off retiring Broncos warhorse Petero Civoniceva in Townsville on Saturday night and hope to do the same to Kite, who has been linked to Wests Tigers for next season.

North Queensland's 33-16 win over Brisbane featured stunning statistics from Tamou and co-prop Matt Scott who made totals of 179m and 221m respectively, with none of the Broncos forwards topping the 100m mark.

Tamou said Manly's forwards were a different proposition.

"They're very fiery," he said.

"They get in your face and they're a very niggly bunch of players.

"But we don't see that as a concern. We go into this game with the excitement mentality, the sort of bring it on mentality.

"But in saying that, we can't get too far ahead of ourselves, so we'll take it day by day."

Kite, 31, was born in Australia, but played for Tonga in the 2000 World Cup in Europe on the basis of his heritage.

Tamou, 23, played for New Zealand Maori between 2008 and 2010, but this year declared his allegiance to Australia on the basis of his junior football in Sydney's eastern suburbs and then his grading by the Sydney Roosters.

Kite last played representative football in 2009, for New South Wales against Queensland in Origin II in Sydney.

He played 10 matches for the Blues and 14 Tests for Australia, on top of two appearances for Tonga.

I get the feeling its a done deal and just waiting for Manly to end their season before making any thing public. Lets hope he show our other forwards what is required to get rid of the soft tag. If in fact he is coming I think he will be a better signing than the others. In saying that I said last year Reddy would turn out a great buy so you can see Iam not a great judge!!!!
