he hasn't really had a bad game with us besides that manly game when he got sent off but even then he had a really good first half if I could remember correctly don't know why a lot of people are shitting on this signings

Agreed. He is a winger but he needs to improve his finishing. JAC would have scored those two tries he bombed against the Broncos.
 
Changing the subject, what does the future hold for Tommy Talau.
Is he a centre or an emerging back rower ?
He’s big enough, maybe that could be an option.
Still think we have to get Laurie closer to the ball at 5/8, Douhei and Nofa right side and ???? / Maumolo/Naden left side.
Perhaps Maumalo/ Naden might be possibly better at fb.Think we tend to look at things one dimensionally.’

Naden at FB ,makes a lot of sense

To be a good fullback you have to be explosive off the mark because a FB will loiter around the ruck waiting for a break to be made. When a break occurs he is spotting them anything up to 5m and has to get there in support quickly. He also runs a lot of metres and has to superfit. He has to be good under the highball and defend well.
Laurie fits the bill except he can be lazy and gets a bit lost in decision making. This is because he hasn't developed those traits. However recently he has shown he does have these attributes hidden away and they surfaced.
He has backed up, taken bombs, made try saving tackles. He is quick off the mark.
Out of all those that have been mentioned Ramsay looks like he could be a future gun but I wouldn't be paying him more to replace Laurie.
Naden I haven't seen much at the back under bombs and he's not electric off the mark.
Fullback is a specialist position. He has to be a talker, getting defensive lines set and Laurie being a quiet lad may be lacking in this.
I was expecting Brett Hodgson to come back to the fold and coach our fullbacks. 🤔

His defence is much better in the centres than the wing.
 
The fact that Jimmy is being picked to play centre over him is concerning. Suggests the new regime doesn't rate him.

I see a move to the backrow in his Sheens inspired future
 
Naden is a cool guy but obviously a depth signing. He is what he is. I don't think he will play NRL next year bar injury. Would love to sign a good winger for next year.
