Brent Read says James Tedesco has re-signed

You're trying to hard Mac…just be patient and wait for the announcement...

My understanding is you must sign a contract with the club you are staying with to renege. The club announced he is going to renege when Tedesco made his intentions clear.

So did Beau Ryan when he told the world he re-signed.

The difference here would be Tedesco MUST put pen to paper before june 30 to stay a Tiger. If he hasn't signed with us yet he will be at canberra next season.

And where are you getting that from?

Trying too hard to what? Lol there won't be one because he reneged by signing the contract that was offered to him.

Yeah that's not true. He can choose to wait until January if he really wants. He signed and reneged on Canberra and I believe the club assumed people would realise that the reneg business meant he signed.

So there are two options:

1\. He re signed but club forgot to announce it.
2\. Tedesco, the club and his manager forgot that there's still a contract to be signed.

Neither of those would surprise me. If the club actually thought that there is no announcement needed, then that's DUMB!

3\. A Party has not met/finalised one or more of the terms of the agreement.
4\. The NRL wont Sign Off on the Contract.
5\. Teddy is playing in Canberra next year.

Could be lots of reasons though, but lets hope this is a storm in a teacup and he has signed!

My thinking was that if it wasn't legit it would be reported on. It is a definite story if Tedesco hasn't actually signed yet after all this time. I was trying to point Brent Read at it to see if there was anything to it. He dismissed it, and that means to me that he knows it's a done deal, otherwise he would have probed someone about it.

Also … he's obviously re-signed for crying out loud.

Hope he wears gloves or at least has warm hands.

Grant Mayer has made life very difficult for James Tedesco as he has for Robbie Farah.
If teddy had signed their would have been an announcement.

Just joking Irvine , I know you have been on the right track all along

Actually milky is right.

A condition of reneging on the initial raiders contract is that the player must remain with his current club. Part of the NRL guidelines for this June 30 rule.

In other words, he couldn't reneg on the raiders deal and then sign a contract with manly. He has to remain with his current club.

Whether this means he has put pen to paper with the tigers, I don't know. But he is prevented from signing with anybody else.

I'm not doubting you Milky or Abraham , but I couldn't find anything when I checked up about this both times

Is it an unwritten rule ??

It's not the June 30 deadline that prohibits players signing with other Clubs in the final year of their contract …it was thrown out by Gallop in 2006...

http://www.smh.com.au/news/league/nrl-kills-off-antitampering-deadline-but-still-dodges-draft/2006/06/20/1150701553435.html

The system as it stands now is this,,,it means players are free to negotiate at any time eg.James Maloney to the Roosters 2 Years before he went there.....It simply means contract wont be registered until after June 30 in the final year of a players contract....

http://www.nrl.com/nrl-mailbox-player-transfers/tabid/11038/newsid/62344/default.aspx

It just so happens that players who agreed to terms with other clubs and then reneged prior to June 30 in the final year of their contract eg Josh Papali and the Eels, Luke Lewis and Souths stayed...they could have signed with another club

If it is true he still remain unsigned I bet knowing us that it's some TPA that we promised but couldn't actually deliver on.
